Recipes are saved to your iPhone so they are ready to go next time you brew your favorite beer. Create and save recipes. Import recipes via beerXML files from your favorite homebrew recipe development software. Once started, Homebrew Timer will show the time remaining to add each ingredient and will push a notification to your device's screen Notifications work while app is in the background or closed. Notifications will appear on your Apple Watch if it is set up to mirror notifications for Homebrew Timer. Tap the “?” button on any screen for instructions. Reviews of Homebrew Timer

Love the app - with a suggestion

In an update it would be nice if the notes show up in the timer screen. That way you could view the mash steps and other notes before starting the timer. When you open a recipe it goes straight to the timed ingredients. To see your notes you need to hit edit. Seems like it would be a easy adjustment. The app does work great.

Settings

So far it works as advertised. Would be nice to have a section for the mash steps. I guess I could put that in the notes section, which is nice to have. Also, what is the purpose of the settings? The only option is to reset to default. How about changing notification sounds, one minute warning notification, continuous alert until acknowledged, color scheme, etc.

I have been using this app for over 6 months now. Overall, I like it and will continue to use despite some of the things I have already suggested:

1. Timer needs work. Needs to have a continuous alert until acknowledged. A single “beep” doesn’t cut it. More alert functions since in the brewing world, the brew schedule is critical! :)

2. More working space for notes. How about you click the notes and it opens to a bigger edit screen?
