The Tire Tool is Better Than the App
The problems I have with the app:
1a. You can’t set a custom tire size
1b. It appears you can set a custom tire pressure, but only in PSI. The actual tire gauge gives you a lot more unit settings for tire pressure.
2. Not all cars have a 17 digit vin. My car for example uses a Chassis Code.
3. Only North American cars appear to be listed. Some of us drive imports and even if they have North American equivalents, sometimes they are not completely equal. Even if you couldn’t add cars that were imported, being able to add your own custom wheel sizes and tire pressures would help immensely.
My Car:
1992 Mitsubishi GTO
tire size is 225 50R17
Tire pressure is listed in kg/cm2
Closest car in your database is:
Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 but the tire size and pressure are different. It’s only about 1/2 psi difference but it’s still different.
Mitsubishi GT0
front 32.4 and rear 28.4 PSI approx. Which matches my door placard which reads 2.2 kg/cm2 Front and 2.0 kg/cm2 Thankfully I can set my tire gauge to kg/cm2 and that’s what shows up in the app when I’m taking the tire pressure but I’m still stuck with PSI when setting the tire pressure in the app.
You also lose a point for not updating your app in over a year.
As I said at the start of this, The Tire gauge is awesome 😎 but the app itself could use a lot of improvement. ☹️
