Lifetime subscriber

I’m glad I got a lifetime subscription. I wish this had 2 features which would make this app the best in the AppStore. 1. The app or the AI recognizes that there are x number of people in the discussion of meeting. And then the transcription be done like Person 1: says so and so person 2: says so and so. And let the user give name to the person. This way the notes will show real meeting minutes on who said what. 2. Way to do a 1 click send via email.

So close to great!

I’ve tried about 30 different note-taking apps, including just about all well-known ones and a bunch of more niche or early-in-development options. I’ve yet to find one that has everything I’m looking for (currently DEVONthink comes closest, but it also has a bunch I’m not looking for and a bit bloated).

Noted comes so close though, in a more mobile-friendly interface. Two wishes in particular: the ability to export voice recordings as audio files, the ability to do that, and other core functions, programmatically via Shortcuts integration. Gravy would be allowing the users to use Noted to manage a folder of markdown files, a la Obsidian or iA Writer.

Regardless, even though I don’t presently use it for much other than voice memos on my Apple Watch, I’ve bought a lifetime membership based on all the good ideas and quick development going into this app. Looking forward to it becoming my go-to if you can add the aforementioned!

Good but not perfect

This app is good and has some great features but it also has a few niggles.
There is no option to resize an imported image, whether from the camera roll, camera or files app. This is very annoying as it takes up too much space on a phone screen.
Also, I found when recording using the Apple Watch feature it can be a bit buggy.
For example; I made one short recording to test the feature (approx 10 seconds long) and while it did transfer to my phone ok, there was 3 identical versions of the recording?
Then, after deleting all Apple Watch test recordings I’d made from both my watch & phone, when I reopened the app on my phone a few hours later, there was 2 identical recordings back?

It is a great app, it’s just with recordings you really want something which is 100% stable to give you the confidence you won’t lose any data.

Hi there, We truly value your feedback and appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the app. It's fantastic to hear that you're enjoying our features, but we're genuinely sorry to hear about the hiccups you've run into. We completely understand your frustration with the image resizing feature, and please rest assured that we'll take this into account for our future updates. Regarding the Apple Watch recording glitch, this isn't what we'd expect either. Our team is actively working on improving stability to ensure a seamless experience. If you have more insights to share or come across any other quirks, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Your feedback plays a vital role in helping us improve the app, and we're here to assist with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you for your support 💕

You might want to give this app a try

I use Noted regularly to organise my thoughts, ideas, priorities, hopes and many other random things I need to remember throughout my week. The feature I love most is dictation, which seamlessly shows the developer's excellent effort to put users first. However, I wish I could lengthen the pause time before it enters a new line.
I must say that whilst the app does prioritise the user experience through the ability to customise numerous aspects, such as whether you want your notes to display the date and time, to even the app icon, it does use several predatory practices such as advertising ‘one’ time offers for the premium subscription. This practice is incredibly pathetic compared with the developer's prior efforts of a good user experience.

P.S. I'm not super well-versed in Australian Consumer Law; however, I am inclined to believe that this practice could be a breach of on of the several legislations.

I can not describe how satisfied I am with this amazing app. Design and functionality both merged and optimized within Noted.

Thanks for your feedback! ❤️

Lacking for my scenario

I was hoping noted would bridge audio recordings and text based notes by enabling capture of audio on watch and then help transcribing this into text based notes. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to support this scenario currently. It seems more tuned to typing in notes while recording and cross referencing the two which isn’t a scenario I personally use much. There are other small niggles eg not supporting apple keyboard for iPad to control note playback (eg space bar play pause). Watch app doesn’t appear to support recording / playback from AirPods unlike the built in voice recorder. Can’t recommend for my personal scenarios, hope these points are addressed.

Good for students, but not as a personal notes app

For all personal (non-academic) use cases I've had, Noted falls sort of my preferred notes app: Bear.

However, the user interface is beautiful and the audio recording feature would probably be very useful if I were still in school, or working as a medical scribe or something.

One major recommendation to the developers: if you allowed for sub-notebooks within other notebooks, or folders, for additional levels of organization, I would consider paying $30/year for this to use it for my work-related notes. For now though, I use Bear as my personal notes app / writing app, and I use OneNote for work notes since it has that multi-layer notebook/folder functionality.

Well executed overall though.

Beware: Why am I unable to cancel my free trial?

I’m signed up for the free trial of noted and would like to cancel my free trial and do not want the paid subscription. It appears that there’s no option for me to do this on my own which is unfortunate. It leads me to believe this is a ploy to cause more users to forget (or be unable to) cancel before being charged. Tsk tsk. Folks beware. I’ve emailed support and asked to please confirm cancellation of my free trial and that there will be no charge to my account. Alternatively I’ve asked to please advise how I can cancel on my own today. Thanks

It looked like what I wanted

Edit: I gave this app another chance because I need to find a dictation and transcribing app that actually WORKS, and it still doesn’t work. It picked up my voice for one or two words and can’t hear anything else. I don’t understand.

I am a consulting attorney in desperate need of an app that actually does decent dictation of me or a streaming video. The dictation of a video on this was scary bad, some of the worst I’ve seen, ESPECIALLY considering the subscription price. It recorded one line, deleted half of it, then randomly picked up a word or 2, and deleted one of those two. Needs major improvement and I really hoped I finally found a good one.
