Uniquely deep adventure match game
The bad: no tutorial but there is a great Reddit on how to play and strategy. The ugly: There is the occasional bugs that cause a restart.
The fantastic: Incredibly deep strategy between day and night transitions, resource collection and fighting. Wonderful hidden gem on the app store. Great for anyone liking strategy RPG. Difficulty is perfect when the hidden strategies are learned.afternoon_nap
Worthwhile
It's a strategic match 3 along the lines of You Must Build a Boat, which I enjoyed about the same amount. It gets a bit repetitive by the end, but overall it's good entertainment for the few hours needed to win.Lingrush24
Not worth paying for
I grabbed this after glowing reviews and I'm pretty disappointed. The reviews mislead me into thinking there was more depth. It's apparently just another dull matching game with crap graphics and no real story or hook to keep it interesting for long at all.Winston Chesterfield
Addictive Progression
Day 26. Love the game. Can't stop playing it. I like the day/night cycle mechanic and how the choices you make in one can impact the next. I like the original Gridland and this is a massive improvement. Well done.jmorrissey

Fun match 3 with no hand holding
This match 3 rpg/city builder comes with no instructions. Don't want to spoil anything, but pay attention to the sky. Would give 5 stars if game had an ending...KennyWu4u
Not as strong as A Dark Room
If you like match3 games in the style of you must build a boat, you might find this game scratches an itch. But right now, the mechanics are a little tedious.
The building phase has no real tension, while the strategy of the nighttime levels is simply to slow down and nitpick chains so that you only let a monster out one at a time. There's never a good payoff to a cascade effect. It makes for pretty slow gameplay... :(Henotheist

Needs work
The health bar needs to either be below the tiles; or some visual alert and reaction time buffer when it is critically low. There are some bugs with invisible tiles forcing an app quit. The audio needs variation.BrackAttack1
Love Gridland
An improvement over the already great web version. The gameplay loop is addicting: match tiles to collect resources during the day and fight monsters at night. The music and graphics are simple but great. However, some of the elements (such as the resource bars) are difficult to see on smaller phone screens.SDF7
