Price History of Dérive app

Description of Dérive app

Dérive app is created as a simple but engaging platform that allows users to explore their urban spaces in a care-free and casual way. It takes the ideals of the Situationists and merges it with digital means in order to create a tool that allows for the exploration of urban space in a random unplanned way, as a game. Too often in urban centers we are controlled by our day to day activities thus closing off urban experiences that exist around us. Dérive app was created to try to nudge those people who are in this repetitive cycle to allow the suggestions and subjectivities of others to enter into their urban existences.

  • Great app

This app is super amazing and fun but it’d be a lot better if more people used it. It’s also a tad glitchy but tons of fun. Please, creator put up ads or something to get this to more people!
  • So Disappointed

I found this app years ago and loved it. I would set it to start and it would give directions like ‘Turn left at the next street’ or ‘follow a person in a yellow hat for 3 blocks’. It truly let me get lost and explore areas of any city I was in. I’m in a new city and wanted to use this to explore. I got back on and all of that has disappeared. Now it only gives one task per hour or it has cards to follow - but they’re things like ‘read the first page of a book you haven’t read’ or ‘go into a university building’. All of the ‘get lost’ enjoyment of the app is gone. So absolutely disappointed in the direction it’s taken that I won’t be using it anymore.

Excellent to see some situationist thinking on the app market. Enjoy your derives!
