NFHS Doesn’t Support or Really Want to Educate Officials
It’s interesting that NFHS can’t support officials in any way. They can’t even provide digital copies of rules to registered officials without a cost. It clear NFHS doesn’t really care about growing the number and quality of officials. The NFHS Rules app for iPhone is useless. The app won’t find any books to add. The selection to select a subject for contacting you doesn’t allow a selection. That means “contact us” doesn’t work. It’s crazy that there is an expectation that officials use an app for rule books and the app doesn’t work. How do you expect anyone to use this kind of service?Show lessDifficult to add rule books
I have spent over an hour trying to purchase and load rule books. I finally found the rules and cannot purchase them because it will not accept my login or password. I have re-registered and it shows my login. I try to login in and it will not accept my password. I try to change my password and still will not accept my password. I am at a loss on how to get the rule books.Show lessNew officials are in trouble
The NFHS app in the past worked fine, and now this new NFHS access app is a mess. My inquiry was answered with an apology, stating she was inundated with emails. Well the solutions she suggested were useless. I can still only access my 2023 girls lacrosse rule book. I also signed up to be a boys official to help alleviate their severe shortage. Florida High School Association lost the rule books for 2024. I only have the 2022 rule book that was given to me by a senior official.
I’m a veteran official who has trained many new officials, only to see them leave after poor treatment by parents, coaches, and in some case players. I’m done as a trainer and mentor!! It’s too hard to put in the time and effort only to see good candidates leave time and time again. What is NFHS thinking???Show less
