Description of One Million Steps
One Million Steps is an affordable fitness fundraising challenge that anyone can take part in, from any location, without previous training and raise money for good causes
It’s a hundred-day journey with mindfulness, Pilates and strengthening exercises to get you feeling good and doing good.
Individuals walk a million steps in 100 days (500 miles) while fundraising for causes they care about.
Charities receive a branded charity page with integrated fundraising, and the opportunity to widen their pool of supporters and see 6 times the return of investment.
Businesses receive affordable tools and resources to support staff health and wellbeing while fulfilling their corporate social responsibility and giving back to the community.
Use the app to:
· wirelessly sync our pedometer with your mobile device
· or use Apple Health (HealthKit) with your favourite pedometer device
· track your progress and goals,
· compete in mini-challenges
· follow friends on leader boards
· and fundraise for good causes
Track Your Progress
· Steps – did you reach your daily goal?
· Total Active Time - try to reach 2 hours a day
· Active Mins – get those cardio minutes by walking a total of 45 mins a day at three miles per hour pace
· Active Hours - Stop just sitting around! Try to make 9 out of 12 hours your Active Hours. How? Do 300 steps in that hour or get a buzz reminder
· Step Average - Monitor your 7, 14, 30, 60 and 100-day step average to keep you on track – no more lying to yourself, it’s all there to see
· Distance – tell your friends how far you have walked or run
· Calories – With all that hard work, check to see how many calories you may have burnt
Mini-Challenges
Mini-Challenges are great for that extra boost or getting back on track. We have six mini challenges to take and compete with friends.
24-hour Burst – Nothing says it better than an all-out push
Weekend Walkathon – Two-day challenge. Use the weekends to catch up on steps or just keep active on the quiet days
Work Week Wonder – Five-day challenge. Monday to Friday. Who’ll be champion at the end?
Full Week Monty – 7-day challenge Monday to Sunday to walk through the week
14 day Reset – Feel like a reboot? This two-week challenge is a great refresher.
30-day Rejuvenator – 30 days to get fighting fit again
