2.6.2

June 30, 2024

STABILITY IMPROVEMENTS • This release is mainly about improved stability during background data loading. • One-time 'forced' reload of in-app database content. This removes any potentially outdated data records. • In-memory state is committed to disk less often te ensure user interface consistency (transactions). • iOS Settings now has toggles about stress testing that are used in developing the app. • New compliance to Swift 6 guidelines for preventing concurrency issues (strict data-race checking). PORTFOLIOS SCREEN • Swiping down the top of screens with lists will clear (new) and reload the app's locally saved data. iOS SETTINGS • The iOS Settings app now shows version info as well as some additional information about the app. PRELUDE SCREEN • Changed the large software-generated logo for a better match to the app's icon (red/blue swap). • App icon itself slightly updated and prepared for iOS's dark and tinted modes (WWDC24). DOCUMENTATION • Improved documentation for achieving Level 1 club support. See the README file on GitHub. • Removed documentation section on Privacy and encryption. It is no longer relevant. APP STORE • Fixed app name on Dutch App Store. MAINTENANCE • Tested on MacOS 14,5, and latest available versions of Swift, Xcode, iOS and Vision Pro. • Data encryption and any sensitive data (like member e-mail addresses) are now removed.

PORTFOLIO SCREEN • Fixed: the portfolios hosted on www.fotogroepwaalre.nl were no longer accessible. This broke all previous app version. • Changed the icon shown while loading an image. It's a tortoise image generated using generative AI. WHO'S WHO SCREEN • Added iOS 17's vertical "smart scrolling": scrolling stops aligned on item boundaries. • Captions are now shown below each image. Previously the text was superimposed on the image. MAINTENANCE • Fixed: developers couldn't directly build GitHub source code (because placeholder file `FGWPrivateMemberURL2.txt` was missing). • Fixed: Deletion of portfolios, clubs, museums, and photographers has been improved. Deletion is harmless: any missing data is reloaded on launch.

2.5.3

CLUBS and MUSEUMS SCREEN • Maps can display various photography museums. There are, for example, currently three in New York City. • Museums are shown on maps using a special marker pin. • Clubs are shown at top of list, followed by Museums.. • Renamed screen from `Photo Clubs` to `Clubs and Musea`. • Removed the footnote about pull-to-refresh. • Top of screen shows how many clubs and museums are shown on the list (e.g. "72 items shown"). • A 140-character remark can be at the bottom of each map. It's works for clubs and musea and can be in either language. • Stopped showing member count for museums (it was always 0). It is also not shown for clubs without member data. • A photo museum can have an optional link to Wikipedia (link shown as Wikipedia's "W" logo). PORTFOLIOS SCREEN • Name of towns are now shown in the appropriate language. For most towns, there is no translation. • Set a maximum font size for footers (in case the user is using large font). • Removed the three dummy photo clubs. They now show up as photo museums (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague). README SCREEN • Complete text rewrite (with help from MB and GvS), including adding a few pictures. MAINTENANCE • Tested with with latest versions of iOS, MacOS, GitCrypt, and Xcode. • Updated data model diagram in GitHub README.md file. • Renamed PhotoClub table to Organization table (to support photo museums). There is a new OrganizationType table too. • Converted SwiftyJSON from package to file as packages were giving trouble (why?). • Additional photo clubs (and museums) are loaded from a data file (named OrganizationList.json and hosted on GitHub). • An organization's country is automatically determined using its coordinates. This also localizes the country name: "France" vs "Frankrijk". • Town names may also be shown translated, but most towns don't get translated: "The Hague" vs "Den Haag". • Removed support for Dutch Chamber of Commerce ('kvk') number. • Refreshed screenshots used on App Store.

MAINTENANCE • Tested with iOS 17.2, MacOS 14.2, Xcode 14.1, and SwiftLint 0.53. • Updated Github README to document coming ClubList.json data file configurability. • Minor data corrections. • Renamed source code directories/files to remove old app name, _Fotogroep Waalre_.

Price History of Photo Club Hub

Description of Photo Club Hub

This app showcases selected work of current and former members of amateur photography clubs. The app requires an internet connection to get up to date membership lists, lists of photos, etc. The app originally supported a single photo club in the Netherlands. Starting in version 2.0, the app was extended to support multiple photo clubs. This enables a user to view photos from multiple participating clubs without the hassle of locating the individual websites or discovering how to navigate each unique site. Starting with version 2.4.0, the app's name changed to "Photo Club Hub". The app supports English as well as Dutch. The source code of the iOS app can be found on Github.com/vdHamer in order to support collaborative development of the software. Contributions of time, skills and ideas are greatly appreciated.
