  • Great app

This app is great and honestly works to get kids motivated to do chores, knowing they’ll be earning something for their hard work.

I would suggest possibly adding a “time frame” feature to have certain tasks available to do only between certain times instead of only being able to implement a deadline (eg. certain tasks starting at 4pm until 6pm). My child tends to gets a little too excited to complete tasks and request points, so she will sometimes try to complete everything first thing in the morning when certain things need to wait until later in the day to be done. I think having certain tasks not show up until the time frames they need to be done could help with that, and maybe a reminder notification when the time frame begins.

It would also be nice to be able to set optional tasks for specific days, just like required ones, instead of only being able to choose the frequency that they can be completed.

Otherwise, this app is amazing. We’ve seen a complete turn around from nagging to do simple chores, to almost complete self sufficiency in getting them done 👍🏻

  • Could be 5 but...

It’s a great app and works well. It would be nice to have an option to not allow kids to see the other children’s point total on their devices. You can child lock the device so they. Ant go in and look at the other kids tasks but they can still see everyone’s point totals. It causes too much competition, this feature would be a nice addition.

  • Terrible customer service

Overall, I really like the app. I have a 3 boys and we have been looking for something easy to use for awhile that still motivates them and is very clear on what they need to do each day/week. The reason I am giving this app a one star is simply because of customer service. I purchased a new phone and forgot my password to this app. It will not send me the email to reset the password. I emailed customer service multiple times and have never received a response. Therefore, they will be losing my business. It’s sad, because I really liked the app and spent a lot of time setting it up just right. I would’ve probably continued the subscription for awhile because it seemed to work for our family.

  • UPDATED: New update broke stuff and limits functions

UPDATE: Thanks to the developer for the helpful response. I was able to fix the issues below without a problem.

So my kids share a cell phone and since the new update, it locks to only one child, making it unusable for the other 3 kids. Please fix!!! Also, I paid for the upgraded app but it only works one one device, even though it’s for the whole family. If my wife wants to change anything, it doesn’t work on her device as the paid version.

  • Parenting Made Easier... BUT...

There are so many things I like about this app. I love how easy it is to customize and to reward the kids for desired behavior. I love that each kid has the app and can see their own list. I can add tasks, rewards, and penalties as needed very easily. The kids respond to the instant gratification of knowing they will get points. My one problem with that app is that I need my kids to be able to check off a box for me to approve their task getting done. Giving the kids the ability to check off their tasks as they go and for me to approve later would free up a lot of my time and end a lot of fuss from the kids when I either can’t award their points instantly or forget about them completely. On the plus side the developer really seems to listen to suggestions as I have seen a lot of improvements in the updates. I really hope this will be the next big step for a pretty great app.

The monthly subscription upgrade isn’t necessary to get good use out of this app but I highly recommend it. It is worth every penny and my kids like being able to save up for the “big ticket” rewards like $10 to shop at a store, visit an arcade, or even a guitar that my son asked for. I absolutely love seeing my kids, not just earning rewards, but realizing the value of saving up for something they really want.

    Developer Response

Hi - Thank you for the review! If you had not seen it yet, a new version was released recently that adds a new premium feature as you describe - allowing kids to request points and privileges from their own devices and then parents can approve or deny those requests from their own devices.
  • Love this app!

My child with ADHD and ODD usually does not listen and resists help with any chores. Since using this point system CONSISTENTLY (that’s the key word), her behavior and participation have improved. I like that my husband has access to the same screen as me and it’s just not my job to keep track of points. The kids like to frequently change their photo in the app which gives them a sense of control. This app makes it very easy to customize and keep track of points. No complaints. Highly recommend!

  • Best app

I love this app. We use the points as money for our kids. Each point is 50 cents, but now the kids have to use their points to use any devices and buy anything of their own like clothes, gifts, etc. (Things I’d be buying anyways). Also I can take away points for certain behaviors like saying “I hate you”, hitting, yelling, damaging property, etc. It is 100% customizable and you can add as many tasks, penalties and privileges as you want! Another privilege is cashing in points for $, say if they need $5 they can cash in 10 points. Such a great app and well worth the money!

  • Amazing! Where was this a few years ago?

My son has some intense metal and behavioral issues that we have been managing his whole life (will be 15 soon). I found this app last week and it has been a game changer! When previous chore charts never worked, this is doing an amazing job of keeping my son on task and able to clearly know expectations. I love that my husband also has the app so there isn’t the “but mom said” or “dad said it was ok” argument anymore. Love this app. I’ve been telling everyone that will listen about it!

  • Awesome!

This app is great. I found you need to spend $1.99 to access the features that make it work best. 99 cents on higher point values and 99 cents on back dating if you forget to award or penalty points.

This is a positive reenforcement strategy. It only works if you take away all the spare time things your child enjoys doing and only award them if they do it on time. Don’t take away points for anything other than something related to the task they are earning points on. You can’t take a way points randomly. I only have two penalties which are -1 point for whining and -2 points for yelling or being angry DURING a task. Otherwise they can cash in the points anytime even if I’m trouble for something else. It keeps them motivated.

I don’t have rewards for time with parents or other things related to relationships. They shouldn’t have to earn a relationship with you.

My son (8 years old) went from an entitled kid to a hard working kid who does what he’s asked.

Buy the two upgrades mentioned. Ask your child what they want for rewards. Make the big rewards just hard enough to reach easily and also little rewards that are easy to earn. Keep the penalties to as few as possible. Give them the reward if they ask to spend points.

    Easy!

  • Free good but purchase not worth it

I thought that if I click backdate it will allow me to jot down the date when the task was completed, but it just add the points without anything showing in history.

The ability for the kids to see their points and descriptions of tasks, penalties and rewards but not make changes is awesome. I also love that my kids get notified when a point is added or taken away; however, it would be better if each child could have their own account so that they are not being notified of sibling’s points.

I guess for parents who want their kids to compete with each other is great but I teach mine to mind in their own business so constant access to each other’s points doesn’t help.

Also, a web version would be beneficial.

Although improvements can be made, the app is a way better option than me repeating my self constantly. 😀

Thank you developers for blessing parents with this treasure. As a mom of a boy with Autism another with ADHD and me having ADD, this app is gold.
