Hi carib7 We’re sorry that uTalk Classic Learn Cebuano, which is aimed at complete beginners, doesn’t meet you needs. For more serious learners, we also publish uTalk - Learn Any Language which offers a total of 60 topics in Cebuano compared to the nine in uTalk Classic. Please contact us at support@utalk.com if you would like to discuss switching over, the differences between the two apps or any other issues. We really want to have happy customers. Best wishes, Sarah

Sweet UI & games/ tests

As the images show, the UI is very nice. Photos chosen to illustrate meaning of words are well chosen. The hand reaching up through the grate to illustrate "help!" Is a perfect example. The games and learning drills are well designed and do help me learn. 5 ⭐️s

On the down side, there is no real depth: Nine categories with about 20 words or phrases in each category. There is no attempt to teach verb forms, conjugation, tense or any other grammatical usage training. 3 ⭐️s

Cost: This is the most I have ever paid for an iPhone app, but honestly, I get much more utility from many <$3.00 apps! 1 ⭐️.

The male and female voices in the app are high quality recordings. I downloaded another free app that can be upgraded for $3.99 and get 3,500 vocabulary words/phrases. Compare this to the 180 in this app for more than double the cost.

I would really love to see this app expanded because I love the user experience.

Dear Missah G, we really appreciate the time you have taken to review uTalk Classic. We have put a lot of time into creating the UI and are really pleased to hear that you like it. Regarding the downside, uTalk Classic has been designed for people who may not have a lot of time to learn a language, but would like to master a few essential words and phrases really quickly. The aim of the app is to get you to start talking, in a similar way to how a young child learns. In the early years of our research, we realised that children at the age of 4 have never been introduced to grammar, wouldnt know the meaning of the word verb and yet are fluent speakers. This is why we've decided not to focus on grammar. If you are looking for more content, our uTalk learn any language app could be more suited for you. It's free to download, comes with free starter words in 130 languages and you can purchase a wide range of content if you want to learn more words and phrases. We're a friendly bunch so if you feel we can help in any way, please feel free to email us on hello@utalk.com
