We've updated Alto's Odyssey to continue to work great on the latest versions of iOS and the newest devices.

1.0.4

April 28, 2018

To make your time exploring the endless desert a little more pleasant, we've taken care of a few lingering issues. This update should fix: • Game Center Achievements. Distance and goal-based achievements weren't properly registering for players who had completed them. They should be now! This includes retroactive credit for achievements earned. • Goal 1, Level 53. The logic for this goal wrongly requiring players to be wearing the wingsuit, but the goal text didn't mention that. We've removed that requirement. • Trick point issues. In order to bring more balance to earning a high score, we've prevented the Wall Jump trick from triggering more than once on the same wall surface.

Our heartfelt thanks for all the warm words & great feedback on Alto's Odyssey! This update addresses many of the major issues we've heard from you about. They are: 1.0.3 • As part of update 1.0.2, we accidentally changed a setting that caused performance on iPad Pro devices with ProMotion to take a hit. We've rectified this, and gameplay should once again be smooth! 1.0.2 • Many optimizations to improve play quality and frame rate. Especially on iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 & 6S, iPad Air models, and Apple TV. • Important tutorial bug fix during backflip instruction stage. No longer causes issues if you crash during this step. • Goal Fixes. Text, translation, and logic changes to address a small number of goals that were not working as intended. In particular, Level 27 and Level 59. • Extensive localization & language fixes. In particular, French translation errors and a full Russian language pass. • Game Centre achievement fixes. Game Center achievements that weren't registering for trick and distance will now update! "The Ultimate Challenge" works properly across reset games. • Sound and Music volume sliders no longer revert to 100% volume after use. • Fixed issue that caused text to sometimes be the wrong colour (too dark or bright). This includes the colour of goal stars. • Re-enable character level counter on goal completion screen. • Score events no longer submitting during Zen Mode. No more sunset & sunrise popups as you play Zen! • 3D Touch button unavailable for use prior to unlocking the wingsuit. This is to prevent player frustration experienced by accidentally turning this on! • Fixed issue where wingsuitting through a tornado caused odd gravity issues. • A few fun surprises!

Reviews of Alto's Odyssey

  • Beautiful and Immersive by Design yet Shockingly Simple

What a game! Been playing Alto’s Odyssey for over a year now and have loved every second of it. Very rarely do game devs create that is so visually intricate yet easy to learn and worth coming back to over and over again, yet Snowman has checked all the boxes. It’s a nice game to play on long car rides or flights, as I’ve found it’s a great escape from the real world as you are hooked by the serene soundtrack and stunning scenery. As I’ve played Odyssey I’ve come to appreciate the constantly changing weather patterns and daylight cycles that can even affect how well I perform.
Though it’s a 5-star game in my books, one suggestion I have is to remove the character Sumatra entirely or replace her with another character that has his/her own unique attribute. Once you’ve unlocked Sumatra the game becomes very easy, and personally I enjoy the challenges presented with each character (Paz’s extremely slow backflips but great momentum, Maya’s low momentum but swift backflips, etc). In addition to this, the challenges could be altered so some are more specific to certain characters, and thus create incentives to use each of them.
  • Version 1.3.0 still has UI bugs

This is one of the best mobile games I have ever played. I have spent endless hours playing it and am in the top 100 in two out of the three Game Center leaderboards. The recent UI bug fixes and improvements have seemed to make the UI worse on my end. The two things I’ve seen since the update are that while playing the trick points number overlaps slightly with the distance number and on the end screen when you have over one million points the last digit is squeezed underneath. These are all the bugs that I have noticed so far but I also recognize that this update has improved some text size including coins over 1,000 in the pause screen! Overall I hope they make some adjustments to fix these problems. Thanks!
  • So zen

This game is super fun and relaxing to play. And as you travel across the dunes, canyons and temples a story really starts to unfold. I just love how you can use a sand bord to travel on the canyon walls and the wing sute to safely get across caverns. A also think that the character balances are really good. Paz flips really slow but has a lot of momentum. Maya flips really fast but doesn’t get very much momentum and alto is in the middle. There is also a zen mode that allows you to peacefully travel the desert without risk of of diving. There is just so much fun to be had in this game and so many solid characters. If you like a strong fun, relaxing Quality game this is the place to come. And if you played the first game ALTOS ADVENTURE than I should brobally tell you this game is a huge step up from it
