  • Imperfect but good and free

I tried half a dozen slitherlink games, and all of them were useless—either there’s no generator for new games beyond the couple dozen it comes with, or you have to wait for “stamina” to play for new games, or you’re bombarded with ads, or there are glitches that make it unplayable, or the interface is unusable. Then I found this one. No unnecessary “gamification”, no timers, just pick it up and play a custom slitherlink whenever you want. The interface doesn’t scale well as you play larger puzzles and it has to shrink everything down (it starts to shrink beyond 10x8 on an iPhone 11, but the cutoff probably depends on your device, and how far it can shrink before it becomes too annoying probably depends on your eye and fingers). A few of the color schemes (which it randomly selects each time) are pretty low-contrast. But those are the only problems I’ve found, and they don’t negate the fact that this stands head and shoulders above every other slitherlink app I’ve tried in that you can actually have fun playing it.

  • Very poor colour.

I’m sure it’s ok to play but the colour scheme is quite ludicrous. It’s very difficult to distinguish where you have placed a line and in harder puzzles this is going to become an issue.
  • Clean, Intuitive, Infinite

I only discovered what Slitherlinks were earlier this year. I loved playing them online and downloaded a few apps at the start. This is the only one I’ve kept. I’ve solved all the puzzles and since there’s a generator in this app, I have an infinite number of more puzzles.

The UI is simple but pleasing and I haven’t run into any bugs or glitches after months of using this app almost daily.

While I like the colors used, I do agree that some of the colors are very similar (like the purple theme) and make it hard to tell the difference between the background and your selected lines. The opacity of the background color should be set low for all the themes.

I’m a big fan. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Totally unusable for colorblind people

The choice of colors and the very low contrast between marked lines and unmarked lines makes it almost impossible to use for colorblind people.
  • Really great version of this game

I really like the way this game has a default grid that you can select as correct or delete to confirm it’s not used. That really helps me solve.

The included puzzles are challenging and colors are cool. The generator lets you keep playing after all the hand mades are done.

    Well done
