  • Really good but needs more

I really love this app for pixel art. It’s easy to use, the tutorials are great, and you have most of the tools you need. When I say most...I wish there was a little view port of your image like the older Dottable app that could be moved onto either side of the screen interface so I can see my art as one piece zoomed out. And I wish the mirror option let me draw lines and shapes mirrored but that feature doesn’t seem to work unless I want just a single pixel at a time. I can’t just draw in that setting which is frustrating. I also want to be able to make, import, and edit my own color pallets. If these features existed it would be darn near perfect. Frame by frame animation would also be a great thing to add one day. Otherwise this is one of the best free pixel art options I’ve found for the iPad.

  • Does everything I want it to do

Honestly, the app is very concise and does everything that I wanted a pixel art app to do. All of the tools are super friendly, and I love how easy it is to create an animated gif and ong set with the app
The only thing I noticed (which isn’t really a problem) is that when the app asks to delete a layer, the pop up message asking whether or not you want to do so is still in Japanese
The non-intrusive and easy to follow first-time instructions/guide through the app was also a big plus!!

  • Good Editor, Change this rating to a 5

This is an overall good editor to use, but I would like to see a feature where you can see what you have drawn tiled next to each other. This would be immensely helpful for game developers who want to see what a floor or wall will look like in their game.
  • Fantastic for the price!

It does everything I need and more. Can’t complain for a free app. Yes you can pay to remove adds. It creates animated gif. Which is cool. Very intuitive basic controls so anyone can learn it quickly. Also it is very fun to use. I will be utilizing it for game dev eventually after I get better at creating pixel art. I haven’t found anything negative from a user side. Someone mentioned something about undo being limited, but I have not had an issue with that. All in all a great app. Try it out.

  • Wonderful app!

I’ve been using this app around...six months now? I’ve used a couple of mobile pixel art apps, and this is by far my favorite. It’s very easy to learn, and has a lot of useful tools,m (love the reflect button)
My only dislikes is that sometimes the canvas seems to add another layer without me purposely making one? Or that could just be me pressing a button and not realizing it...Bigger grids would also be appreciative, but there’s only so much you can do on a mobile device.
For anyone who is interested about pixel art, I always recommend this app, as it’s the one I use!

  • Best pixel art app but...

This is a fantastic app, but if i were to make one suggestion it would be to improve default color palates! Lots of the default pallets aren't very usable and don't seem to be made with anything in mind. Of course the user can make their own palates, but sometimes I just want to go in and create something without putting a lot of effort into picking my colors.

Other than that though, everything is great; i highly recommend this app!

  • Great with few problems

I love the app and how it works. Almost everything is smooth and enjoyable. The only problem I have with it is its zooming. I have to switch to the hand tool anytime I want to zoom because otherwise it will paint anywhere my fingers hit. It’s quite frustrating. I would also love a noise option and I can’t seem to find one but that’s not a priority. Overall it’s very useful and good to use.

  • Happy to use!!

I love the functionality of it, it’s a great app with more features than other pixel apps out there such as an unlimited amount of color options and easy-to-use select tools with multiple settings on all tools.

    Few Suggestions:
    - Paid feature to remove ads
    - An update to remove bugs. Part of my UI isn’t accessible right now because it isn’t displaying correctly.

  • Great app but I have few suggestions

This app is great for making pixel art on the go. Its easy user friendly and a life saver for indie game devs such as myself. I have a few suggestions though to make this app better. For one, I like the option to rearrange projects. I’d like for there to be a a color selection tool (like the magic wand tool in Photoshop). I’d also like to be able to add more layers to a project. I’d also like for there not to be a limit to how many times you can Undo. And lastly, it would be great if I could increase the size of the canvas larger than the default which is 256 x 256 pixels, unless there already is a way to increase the size and I’m just not aware of it. Other than that, this app is great, very convenient, and well worth the money. 👍🏼👍🏼

  • Probably the best free pixel art app out there.

As a person who enjoys art and digital media (while I’m not good at it per say), I love pixel art. Amazingly, Piskel is not that great, but this is. It’s easy to use, has a nice interface, and the color pallets are unlimited. Plus, their logo is of a squid (bonus points!). Sometimes it lags, some ads are not skip able, and progress doesn’t auto save. I think they should add a texture tool, an alias tool, and better fill bucket mechanics. Other than that, this is good for pixel artists, as sprite work is easy in this.

    7.5/10 would recommend.
