Great app
Works really well. There's one very annoying bug where if my phone goes to sleep or i switch apps, the tenhou app loses sound till I kill it and reopen it. If this bug was fixed this would be a 5/5 for sure!
Very hard to use.
It is not optimized to any screen resolution or aspect ratio. Text is always out of boards, soapy sprites. More looks like alpha version than even beta. At least there are no ads.

Fantastic app with 1 problem
Tenhou is without a doubt my favorite way and the best way to play Online Riichi. It’s easy to use, it works smoothly on everything I own, and you can jump into a game almost immediately at any time.
The only downside is that it really needs to be fully translated. If you already know the yaku List, you can piece together what the kanji means at the end of a hand. I definitely had to consult outside documentation to figure out which lobby is which. Both of these aspects require western players to already be fairly familiar with Riichi rules, which means I can’t recommend this app to friends trying to get into the game.
Tenhou is a great recommend for the already initiated. I love this app otherwise. If it were fully translated I’d recommend to everyone without hesitation.

There are so many people wanting an English translation. I can’t believe it hasn’t happened yet.
This is EASILY the best way to play Japanese/Riichi Mahjong. If there were an English translation, I’d easily rate it five stars.

Best Riichi App Available
This program has the biggest worldwide player base for online riichi (desktop & mobile). The only downside is the lack of English support. Fortunately, due to its popularity, there are numerous guides available to help you navigate the menus (just do a quick search to find them).
English would make this wonderful
Tenhou is the defacto Riichi platform, if only it had English, this fantastic game could become accessible to so much more of the world.
