Reviews of BorKnow Learn Bengali Alphabet

  • Awesome alphabet app!

I am loving learning the alphabet on this app. I wish these developers would add more coherent for learning the language fully!
  • Excellent for beginners/first generation kids

4.5 stars. Grew up speaking some Bangla in America, but never learned to read or write it. This app is life changing for beginners - though it does not include a lesson on the vowel markers used instead of vowels in the middle of words, so you still will not be able to read fluently, but you can figure out the rest online after learning the main vowel characters. I have made quick progress this week and even used the images to make my own flash cards to test my knowledge. Bangla is not easy and it helps to know a native speaker so you can ask questions, like why the four T sounds seem to be the same (but they are not!). Please note that those of us from Bangladesh May not recognize some words as I think this app is based out of Kolkata, and some example words are old fashioned simply because those letters are not used much anymore (like Oiraboth for elephant instead of hathi). Anyways kudos to the developers!
  • Fix this app

I’m a little upset because this app seems great. However, everytime i try to learn a letter, i end up exiting the app. Therefore, i’m unable to learn anything! Please fix this as soon as possible. I would really love to learn with this app
