A pretty faithful interpretation
No idea why Games Workshop haven't done proper official iOs versions of Hero Quest and Space Crusade but in the absence of those this is pretty spot-on at replicating the essence and feel of the original Hero Quest. One major irritation for me though is the positioning on my iPhone screen - the character status graphics on the left hand side of the phone (as the game displays horizontally) are hidden behind the black band at the top of the phone (top as phone is normally, ie held vertically). Can't even flip it so that's on the right. This means it's impossible to keep track of who has how many Hit Points left and I've lost a couple of adventurers because of this so far... The boardgame-style play is a lot of fun, resulting in many hours of enjoyed gameplay. I love the way this game has made fan creations available. So when you’re done with the main content, you can explore what others have created. Believe me when I say, there is a lot out there to explore! Downside to that, is that the gameplay can get fairly repetitive over time. Even so, I find myself coming back to this game after periods of taking a break. The only reason this game does not earn five stars is the fact that there are still bugs in the game that have never been fixed. Most notably, scrolls of speed are broken, and certain weapons don’t show graphically, so when you attack it looks like you’re punching the monsters out. The black sword has that issue, and then maybe one more I think. Overall, this is an outstanding game that holds true to the simplicity of the original board game, while providing enough new content to keep old players interested.Show lessMentalanomaly
Hours of fun
Really enjoying the game and well worth the iap price. I like the graphics and sound and like the fact that it’s all about tactics. Also I like the variety of heroes and that I don’t feel like I’m on rails. Definitely recommend this game.dustyaxe
Nostalgic
This game is the original board game play as advertised. I cannot replace my child hood memories with anything better then the digital versions of them. Highly recommended! Even with a few of the glitches that still need to be worked out, this game is everything it needs to be and more.Ableschable
Great game!
This is a really good game and is almost exactly like a board game I loved in the 90s. My only complaint is that I’m color blind and it’s hard to distinguish the characters and health bars sometimes. It would be so bad on a larger screen, but a phone is hard.Chuck McFoxtrot
