Love the App…But, Here’s a few notes.

I love love love this app but I would love to suggest some possible changes for streamlining this already great app. The app does an amazing job for graphic designers and all creators at being a tool to put down thoughts and ideas really quickly on their phone. However, The trash can next to an edge of an image that you have scaled down tends to get in the way. I am seconds away from throwing my phone sometimes when all my hard work of feathering a halo on an image and then poof* gone. Especially when there is no undo button for a complete delete. You essentially have to exit the whole process that you may or may not have taken some time with and then redo the whole thing.

The other things are rather small but would be great for streamlining creative products. The zooming back out after some of the edit tools have been completed is a bit tasky and resetting back to the original eraser or paintbrush I just locked in is a bit of a pain. Maybe create profiles tag you can save per project. Not sure what that does to the memory or storage side but that would be a nice addition.

Other than those I love this!! Buy it twice and charge me triple if still buy lol

Once Essential, Now Inaccessible for Creatives

I used to love this app for testing creative ideas and producing artworks, and I’ve recommended it to many creatives. However, with more features now behind a paywall, I can no longer use or recommend it. The balance between supporting creative industries and maintaining a fair business model seems to have shifted.

Even if I wanted to pay for a month-to-month subscription for a specific project, I’m put off by the number of reviews mentioning unauthorized charges after canceling. For those of us in the creative industries, especially multidisciplinary artists, subscription costs across various tools quickly become unaffordable. It’s crucial to use apps that allow exploration and pay when a project budget permits.

The recent changes feel shortsighted. If this app aims to support the creative community, there needs to be more flexibility—especially in a time when the industry is struggling.

Hands down one of the best

The tools you’re given in this app are incredible. The AI generator with optional face uploading is such a genius tool to give you more accurate gens if you’re focussing on a specific person. The yearly subscription cost was a bit shaky to me at first, but after using the app for a few days I knew it was 100% worth it.

The only thing the app seems to struggle with is cartoon/comic filters when using a face upload (AI generation). The body and surroundings seem to be styled properly, but the face is almost always realistic looking. It’s not a game changing issue, but it’s worth noting.

The app offers you so many tools and features that really bring the images alive, even those that aren’t AI generated. Such a great app.

Thanks so much for your review. We're so glad to hear that you're enjoying Photoleap!

Don’t do it!!

As others have said, STAY AWAY, they take your money. I downloaded the free trial and cancelled it as it wasn’t what I was after. They then charged me but not through my Apple ID, so I can’t dispute my purchase as it’s not showing through my Apple ID. Somehow they have my payment details from when I downloaded the free trial and have used it to charge me separately. They didn’t charge through my Apple ID so I can’t dispute the purchase as it doesn’t show up as being purchased, it shows as being cancelled. The payment amount they charged me isn’t even the same as the subscription. Now I’m concerned they have my payment information! I have no way of disputing the purchase as they charged me separately from Apple. STAY AWAY from this app!!

Not happy with this app

I downloaded the app Photoleap and immediately found out I would be charged a years subscription if I used it for more than the free 7 days. I deleted my account with them and deleted the app from my iPad. I think they should be a lot more upfront about this before people download the app. I would not want to deal with a company that does this.

Thanks for your review and apologies. This doesn't sound right as Photoleap is totally free to use and purchasing is optional. Can you please send us your receipt/invoice to photoleap.support@lightricks.com so that we can help you. Thank you.

Downfall

Paid for this app roughly 10 years ago and I loved it and use it for everything. Recently in the last couple years they’ve reduced the features that I had paid for more and more. The downfall of this app is very annoying because I would love to be able to use the features I paid for years ago. They’ve taken my money and reduced the app to scapes and have the audacity to ask me for more and more money. Let the kids play, especially if they’ve paid already. Shame

Paying

Used to be really good until they made it where you have to pay for literally every good feature and it is not a one time payment unless if you want it to be super expensive. And now I can even cut a photo without a subscription! Please change this NOW!!! You don’t know how many times I have needed to cut something out and said to my self “I will just use Photoleap” but then remember I can’t. Most of the good reviews are from YEARS ago. Why is it that I keep finding so made bad things can keep having to come back and edit this review because now I have found out that the small 3 layer limit has just got smaller to 2! And what happened to the one time purchase because i almost got it until I saw that they removed it like how greedy can you be?! AND YOU CANT EVEN SAVE A PNG!!! If I could I would give this NO STARS!!!

I really recommend for everyone to just go get Picsart because it is so much better and it is for free and can do some much with a bit of getting used to. The only thing it dose have adds but it is still so much better!

Thanks for your review. The app includes many free tools that you can use however you like, as well as Pro tools that require a purchase. You will only be asked to make a purchase if you try to save Pro edits while using the free version of the app. Otherwise, you can save any Project, for free.

Sad sad end to the story of Photoleap 😪😪

I have been using photo leap for years I’m the photo shop guy always making funny photos of my friends and family my couzin has asked me to photoshop angel wings on her partners father who had recently passed… sadly I logged on today just to see that photo leap now requires a subscription to use any of the tools that make this app important and different from the rest 😪 you can pretty much do all that the app offers now on your phone just editing pictures what a shame!! I give 2 stars because when it was a great app it was indeed a great app

Bad experience

I had high hopes for this AI photo app based on the hype, but it fell short in many ways. The interface is cluttered and confusing, making it difficult to navigate through the features. The AI enhancements often produce unrealistic and over-processed images that look unnatural. Additionally, the app crashes frequently, especially when working with larger files.

The advertised automatic editing capabilities are hit or miss, with many photos coming out worse than the originals. The customer support is unresponsive and unhelpful, leaving users to figure out solutions on their own. For a paid app, I expected much better performance and reliability. I regret purchasing it and would not recommend it to others. Save your money and look for a more reliable and user-friendly alternative.

NEW UPDATE: We’re greedy now!

Hi! I’ve been on this app for about as long as I’ve had my phone. I’ve loved this app for years, using it for every single one of my projects on the free version. Over the past couple months I’ve noticed the apps success, getting higher reviews and more popularity. However, this led to a couple updates that have caused the app to sellout, at first doing simple things that I find tolerable, such as only allowing a certain amount of AI avatars, but then adding updates like only allowing 2 layers? 2? Do you realize how limiting that is to your users? It wasn’t until I saw that the cutout tool was made for only premium that I had to write this review. Look here, light works your whatever your name is: on every single photoshop platform the cutout tool is free and REQUIRED for ANY photoshop project!! You can’t just get rid of that! That’s literally the most important tool!! Do you expect me to use scissors? You might as well change the apps status to a price tag if you really want to make money so bad. Just change the review filter to ‘most recent’ and you’ll see the effect your stupid changes have made on everyone. Anyway, you guys were great - but now you’re greedy. And your greed is insatiable. Sorry you had to go down this path. Also: Great job handling everyone’s feedback, we really feel heard by your copy and paste response!
