Description of Caremap

Caremap is a collaborative effort between Duke Health Systems and Boston Children’s Hospital to provide a much needed resource to patients and families of children with complex medical needs. Caremap is a patient and family oriented application which allows for the secure storage and sharing of important medical information, often not found or easily accessible to families. We have created a secure and novel mobile application leveraging Apple’s CareKit framework to help patients track and gain insights into any number of important elements of their healthcare. Over time, trends are displayed that may help elucidate insights previous unseen. We are a team of clinicians and technologists, working with families and patients to create a tool that improves their lives and their care throughout the healthcare system and at home.

Reviews of Caremap

  • Has potential

    Doesn’t support iPhone X yet.
    No 3D Touch icon support.
You have to enter all the items at once such as for bowel movements rather than letting you just add each time through out the day.

In general it’s very bare bones and doesn’t make adding items as easy or fun as apps like Glow but where it’s trying to be more minimal it’s not clean and minimal enough to look like Apple Health.

It’s a start and hopefully it gets some design love and continues to improve and all Boston Children Hospital physicians should be required to use it which would make it more useful.
