v. 4.0.5 -- 30 October 2022 • Fixed a bug that cause a crash when the user changed settings BEFORE defining a project. • When the user selects Dip azimuth and dip for the planes format, the labels on the Stereonet Screen now correctly show "Dip Az" and "Dip". Measurements were correct in that format, it was just that the labels didn't change as they should.

v. 4.0.4 -- 2022.07.18 • Fixed an obscure bug in that could cause a crash when the data list table was rewritten. • importing Stereonet Mobile text data now checks for duplicate identifiers in the incoming file and fixes them if necessary.

V. 4.0.2 -- 2022.07.06 • Tap the "Strike" or "Trend" label on the Stereonet Screen to open the last entered datum directly in the Datum Details Screen, bypassing the Data List Screen entirely. This is useful if you want to immediately enter notes about your last measurement. • Auto attitude is now turned off automatically when you leave the Stereonet Screen. Previously, if you turned auto attitude on, saved a measurement, and then left the Stereonet Screen to enter something in the datum details screen without first turning off Auto Attitude manually by toggling the switch or tapping in the stereonet, the device would keep "measuring" the orientation in the background. [This was not technically a bug but rather "the programmer never anticipated one way in which the users would want to use the app"! - ed.]

v. 4.0.1 -- 2022.06.08 • Importing of clipboard text data of orientations lassoed in the StraboSpot and StraboSpot 2 apps now works again (Thanks, Sean!). v. 4.0.0 -- 2022.05.28 A major release! (Because of a file format change, be sure to save and export all of your data before updating to this version. While the version worked fine in testing and preserved user data with no problems, you always want to be sure when it comes to irreplaceable data! After you export/save your data, you can read in the data files and let the app convert them to the new format) • Completely rewritten and modernized codebase • File format is now as a SQLite database for each project. The user never needs to explicitly save any changes other than initial orientation measurements. All other changes are saved automatically. You can read in your old text based data files and have them converted automatically to the new database format. The original text files will remain in your Stereonet Mobile documents folder (which you can now access easily using the Files app). • Metadata for orientations has been improved to include, among other things, a unique ID number and last modification date so that when importing data, orientations will not be duplicated • All of Stereonet Mobile’s files can be accessed directly from the iOS Files app. • Most screens have been redesigned based on experience. For example, the text boxes for strike and dip on the main screen are now at the top of the screen so they are never covered by the keyboard. Some icons have changed and buttons repositioned. • All tables are now dynamic and use standard iOS gestures. By swiping left you can access a variety of operations much more efficiently than previously. For example, in the data list table, you can delete, show/hide, or show on the map any single observation without going to the datum details page. Likewise, in the tables displaying different data types, swipe left to edit or delete any data type. • Calculations have been expanded to enable you to select data by date or by location. Once selected you can choose to show or hide those data, export them, or delete them. • The map/satellite view has much expanded functionality. You can lasso data points and then choose to show/hide/export/delete them. You can also get location for any point on the map or measure the distance and bearing on the map by tapping and dragging. Finally, you can relocate, or assign a location to, any single datum by tapping the map at the point where you want to locate the datum. • File I/O now uses the standard iOS file browser, meaning, among other things you can select files anywhere on iCloud Drive. The file browser also allows you to rename, copy, move, or delete any file that Stereonet Mobile can access. Export via Universal Clipboard (or AirDrop) facilitates using both Stereonet Mobile and GMDE Lite in a field environment and enables easy import to the desktop versions of Stereonet and GMDE. • Stereonet Mobile now permits both download from and uploads to your StraboSpot account. • Batch change of lines or planes types • A (mostly cosmetic) bug in the contouring algorithm has been fixed for the case where the lowest contour intervals are completely closed around the outside of the primitive. • And, most importantly :-) a new app icon that pays homage to Stereoent desktop!

v. 3.4.1 11 November 2019 This version brings much improved compatibility with iOS 13. Screen formatting has been improved in some screens, the new iOS 13 sharing panel no longer causes the app to freeze and there have been some improvements to maps. Some crashing bugs fixed. There is no new scientific functionality but if you are using a recent iOS device and/or iOS system, you should download this version.

v. 3.3.0 -- 2018.07.22 • Angle between lines now also reports the orientation of the plane that contains the two lines. • Angle between planes now also reports the orientation of the line of intersection as well as the strikes and dips of the acute and obtuse angle bisectors. • The app now has a view listing "best practices" for mobile device data collection which is accessible from the Settings View. • Cosmetic bug fixes when using dip azimuth and dip format for planes: the data list view of planes is now labeled correctly. • When using sighting down dip, the program now reports the dip azimuth and the dip, rather than the strike and dip, on the Sighting view, because that is what you are actually measuring when sighting down dip. However, strike and dip will be recorded if you have specified that format for planes. Likewise, sighting parallel to the strike always reports strike and dip because that is what you are physically measuring. If you have specified dip and dip azimuth, your measured planes will be displayed that way once you leave the screen.

v. 3.2.3 -- 2018.07.12 The copy function in the Sharing Panel on the Stereonet View will now copy the most recently saved observation in JSON formatted text which you will be able to paste directly into the upcoming version of the StraboSpot app (or any other app that accepts text). This functionality only exists if you have StraboSpot Integration turned on it the Settings View (it is on by default, but you can turn it off). When StraboSpot Integration is turned off, the sharing panel in the Stereonet View functions as it did before: capturing an image of the current stereonet plot.

v. 3.2.1 -- 2018.03.06 • This version is now fully location aware and, for non-U.S. systems fixes a bug in the Stereonet Mobile output file which was only *partially* location aware. Location awareness means that the app uses your regional settings to know whether to use a period, comma, or other character for the decimal point. Non-U.S. users who use commas as decimal points will now see commas throughout the interface. To facilitate file sharing, on input, Stereonet Mobile will interpret either periods or commas on reading a file or using text on the clipboard as a decimal point. Note that Stereonet Mobile never uses thousands separators anywhere so one should never enter numbers or modify its data file with thousand separators.
