  • Great recipe app

App functionality is great and loading and editing recipes is easy. It may not have a ton of bells and whistles but it does what It needs to do, well. And it is Ad supported rather than the subscription model of Pepperplate which Paprika will no doubt adopt as well. I don’t use the app for grocery lists so don’t care about that type of functionality missing.
The only concern I have is whether the saved and exportable data can be loaded somewhere else if the app is discontinued. So I hope they’re successful so I don’t have to worry about it.

    What happened?

    Developer Response

Can you give more details. What is your version of iOS ? You have nothing in the list ? The number of recipes indicated at the top is 0. Can you update with last version. Thank you

  • Love this app

I had the app on Android. Had collected a lot of recipes. Was able to transfer them to my new iPhone. The iOS version isn’t quite as advanced as the Android version, but it still works better than any other recipe collecting app I’ve tried.

I love that I can download a recipe from the Internet into the app. Sometimes it pulls in only the necessary items. Other times it downloads the blogger’s seemingly endless chit chat. But I just delete what I don’t want. I cook the recipe and then edit it any way I like in the app.

When first installed, the app looks empty, but that’s because you get to set up the categories as you go. It’s fairly user friendly, but some things you have to figure out. Don’t give up! Once figured out, it’s easy and so useful. I use it every day.

I will say that I miss the friendly little chef gif who chops away with his cutting knives while a recipe downloads on the Android version. In the iOS, it’s just a typical download spin. More importantly, once downloaded, the iOS version leaves you hanging...doesn’t take you to the downloaded recipe. But when you open the app, the recipe is there.

Hopefully the developer will continue to upgrade the iPhone app. It is one of the only free apps I have ever paid to upgrade because I really appreciate the developer’s efforts. I think it’s the only app I’ve ever reviewed, too.
