Tacos anyone? 🌮😍
When I became a man. Just like Danny Trejo.
I had sat there for long while before leaving some crumpled money on the table and walking out the of the cafe and into the grey, fading light. The door didn’t squeak when I opened it.
I wandered the city all night. Walking slowly, aimlessly. When the sun finally rose, I found myself on the far edge of the city. How far had I walked? Jesus, where was I? I sat on bench in front of a barber shop. It was the kind of place you see in movies. The place where old men talk about the good old days and fuss with each other about trivialities. I put my face in my hands and began to cry softly. After a while and old man came out and sat beside me.
“You look like hell.”
I looked up slowly. “What?”
“Woman?”, he asked with one eye brow slightly raised.
I smirked slightly. In hindsight, it was obvious, but I asked anyway, “That obvious?”
He nodded slightly and sat back. We remained in silence for some time before he broke sounds of city. “Son, women are tricky. They can break you. And they will. But when they do,“ he continued, “you have to dig deep. Find that inner strength. “
“Like Brian Boitano?”, I asked.
“No son, no. Like a man’s man. Like Danny Trejo.”
Like Danny Trejo. Those words echoed in my mind. Like Danny Trejo. What would Danny do? Would he sit around moping? Heckin’ no. Danny would raise his head up, straighten his back tall and proud, and go get some tacos. That’s what Danny would do.
So that’s what I did. It was a life changing experience. I learned to become a man. A man who can endure hardship. A man who loves tacos.
This game captures that feeling. That moment when you snatch the taco off the top of wall is just like that moment when you realize you’re a man. This game reinforces a single truth: You are capable of anything... just like Danny.
I am the man I am today because of Danny Trejo’s Taco Run!
Thanks, Danny.
And remember, if you’re down and heart broken, ask yourself , WWDTD? What would Danny Trejo do?
