The Amount of Ads!!!!!!
I wrote a previous review that I could not find after about an hour of searching. To make matters worse, I was typing out a new review, got a call and that new one disappeared. When playing the game, if you get a call, text, alarm or close out the game or get off your device for whatever reason without keeping the game open you will definitely get at least one ad. The original review was about how many ads there are and the deception when closing ads. What did I get for my honest review? MORE ADS!!!!!!! I get to choose to watch an ad for extras. I get punished with ads for wanting to play. I get punished with ads while playing! The icing on the cake is THE ADS GET INTERRUPTED WITH ADS!!!! This is ridiculous. Do not waste your time with this game. You will be so disappointed and punished due to the amount of ads just for wanting to play. If you put your device on silent and have sound turned off in the game, guess what??? You still get ads with sound screaming at you and many of them don’t have the option to silence them!!!! Do not play this game at the doctor’s office or courtroom!!!! You will get caught out by the ads. As can be seen by the level I’m on, I’ve played this game a lot. I’m now deleting it because the amount of ads has taken all the joy away from it. You can’t even play the game without intrusive ads!!!

READ THIS: Below is my original 5-star review. I’m back to change it to one-star. There’s been a huge money grab from the developers lately—from charging people 2-3Xs for a single in-app purchase, to now making players pay $9.99 per month for ad-free when it used to be a one-time purchase. I’m so disappointed I feel like deleting the app altogether & I would, except I’m a team leader and my team is like family. For those already playing: CHECK YOUR IN-APP CHARGES!!!! I missed the over-charging for a month, so I suspect many don’t check or notice the double and triple charges.

It helps keep my brain sharp & my mind entertained while also offering an added benefit of an extremely friendly social environment. My team has become like family & that’s priceless! It’s so wonderful to have some place wherein people from all walks of life & a variety of ages can be friends without all the distractions and stress of polarizing issues that abound these days. I also highly recommend paying the one-time charge to go ad-free because it’s totally worth every cent. I actually appreciate that it’s not an ongoing subscription, but only a one-time fee that improves gameplay exponentially! If you want a fun, beneficial for your brain game with awesome people who quickly become your friends-this is the game for you 😁

Loveeee but needs improvement
I love this game! It’s so relaxing and I’ve played for years. I love that I can watch adds for free prizes when I want to. I love the different animals and I love how they all collect different things. It would be nice it some animals didn’t take 7 hours to complete a task. By that time the challenge is over. I have never spent a dime on this game!! A few times I have noticed a bug in the app and I didn’t know it was until I saw someone’s review. The bug is when you select a word like DEER, it will say the word is wrong. Then I go through and try another sequence and it’s still wrong. I will try the same word DEER and it will accept it. Please fix Mt. Fortune! I will be picking boxes and I feel like the game, on its own, will force you to save your prizes if you pick a rock. It’s impossible to win prizes that are useful in puzzles when all I win are portraits. Half of the time the portraits are repetitive so I’m not really winning anything. TOO MANY ADS. Sorry I don’t want to pay with coins to limit ads for one week. Same with paying. Why would I pay 9.99 to remove ads for 30 days? I can’t even check the time on my phone without being bombarded with adds. I don’t remember as many adds when I first downloaded this app. Please do something about this.

Needs Improvement
It’s okay. I expected the levels to grow as you go so you’d get more letters and have to guess more words as you get to higher levels, but it just keeps giving the same mediocre basic words and you never get more than like ten (that’s rare - it’s usually less). The difficulty of the levels is completely random, jumping up and down, making the point of even having “levels” obsolete. There are a lot of words not included in this game’s dictionary that exist, but won’t be accepted. Frustrating. I can’t login or connect to my Facebook account. Ever. Not once since I downloaded the game over a year ago. Why have options if they don’t work? I guess one day when I get a new phone, I’ll be forced to lose my progress (earned coins) and start over. Speaking of coins… my biggest complaint with this game is that it costs soooo much to use a hint if you get stuck, but you barely earn anything so it isn’t balanced. You earn NOTHING for completing a level!! You only earn coins for making extra words that aren’t included in the level (if they even exist in the game’s dictionary) and for every 20 levels you complete, however, hints are so costly, it isn’t worth buying them so I just leave the game and quit playing.

This app is amazing for listing and consentrating here are three of my favourite things about this apps THERES no disadvantages about this app number 1 not many adds I have never found a better app that only includes about two adds between each level or so I’m not completely sure how many adds there are in each level but I’m just saying that there is Hardley any adds in this game and I’m so glad that’s theres only not many adds because I have never found or played a better game Number 2 it’s so peaceful and relaxing seeing all the backgrounds that include somthing relaxing really helps my brain wind down it’s amazing I love all the landscapes as what the creators put as backgrounds for most of the levels this game is so amazing whenever I’m bored or don’t have an opinion on what to play on my iPad I always look and see wordscapes and l love to play this game number 3 can’t not play this if you see and add for thiss game on any streaming platform play it it’s free to download and and amazing learning and fun game bye!

Disappointing New Updates
This used to be my favorite game. I played it throughout the day between meetings and then in the evening. I HATE the October update with the cat gems.
Firstly it has replaced your chance to watch adds and get bonus heart gems. My biggest dislike is that the cat gems bonus opportunity is for an increased percentage and not a set number of extra gems during this time. As you play games the number of gems you get decreases. My bonus opportunity isn’t available until the evening so if I play games during the day the 100% increase is for 0 cat gems, which means I still get 0. So my choices are to either not play during the day or not have a bonus opportunity. Even if I don’t play during the day, during the 2+ hour bonus period I get to the point of receiving 0 cat gems and 0 bonus ones. With the heart gems bonus if you got to 0 you still got the bonus 20 gems per game. The game is intentionally made for you to get 0 while telling you it’s a bonus opportunity. It is not! Plus 100% of 0 is still 0.
This used to be a fun relaxing game to play. Now you have to plan out through your day when the best time to play is and you only get one short period of time. Like we don’t have enough stress and planning in our day to lives already. Sadly, I think it’s time to find a new relaxing and fun game to play because this one isn’t worth it anymore.

Wordscapes
The name actually helps. The ads are exactly like the game. I have found my days a lot more helpful and less stressful. I have found myself playing this game every night before I go to bed. The game makes me feel like I am smart.
If you are looking for a game that is a challenge then you have come to the right place. This is a game where it is simple and challenging. As the levels go on it gets harder and you unlock pets which helps you get more coins. You can also join teams that help you pass the levels and you can help them.
I hope you down load the game it is really fun and I hope it gives you joy when you play. That is why I’m giving this game a 5 star rating. Hope to see more people play Wordscapes. THANK YOU AND BYEE

Great game w/2 exceptions…
8/9/24 ETA: Thank you for removing the extremely invasive, aggressive ad (which came in under the guise of an Apple Music app) and tried to take over my iTunes app that has been in place for years. It also threw in a bunch of other ads after that. VERY aggressive. Reminded me of a Trojan virus.
Otherwise: I have to say your graphics are amazing… the backgrounds that are native to each animal, and even the time of day changing (day, night, sunrise, sunset)… just beautiful.
Some minor stuff: I’m not a fan of dividing the tournament prizes among those who make little to no effort to play. Their name just sits there day after day… no effort to help others w/requests for a hint… yet they receive an equal share of the awards… non-participation trophies, basically. Unfair to those who make a decent effort to play.
I do understand the reason for ads… obviously you need to generate income for your efforts to create and sustain this game… and MOST of yours are not insanely aggressive (I do read the ads, some are pretty interesting), but every so often there will be a new ad… that is so aggressive; playing one ad after another with no end (more ads just keep popping up)… the only way out of it is to close the game… then start it up again or just find another game to play… or get out into the real world again, which is probably a good thing.
I’ve been a senior for quite awhile and this activity helps stimulate the brain and quells anxiety. Thank you.

This is a very fun game. I usually only get ads if I close and reopen the game or after each level. For some reason a few normal words that are used commonly everyday don’t get counted in the game. I recently tried using the word “the” and it doesn’t count even for a bonus word 🤨. But that’s the only issue for me, otherwise I love this game and I recently broke level 1000 and now I’m on level 1047! I love the little animals and I think they are so cute. I tend to save up my star animals during the weekdays and use them during tournaments on the weekends. I use the other ones too but mostly the star, brilliance, and bee animals. I love how you can name them anything you want! I name them after my friends and family and I can name them ridiculously weird names. For example, I named my giraffe “Tall Male Animal”, my kookaburra “raisin brand” and just really weird names! I find it funny that I named my quetzal “pretzel”😝. Overall it’s a very fun game and I like that I can compete with my fellow teammates in tourneys and compare levels and also sometimes when I get really stuck on a level I can just spell out all the letters from said level and my team will help me find words! My team is called “weekendwarriors” and currently we have 40/50 players if anyone would like to join! It’s a very kind team and they are very welcoming! We need more players so we can make more stars during tournaments! Anyways it’s a very nice game that I can play in my free time and relax a little!
