This Maths App addresses KS1 Arithmetic. It has been prepared in conjunction with a KS1 Maths Reasoning App to help prepare children for their KS1 maths exams which can be daunting for children and parents alike. The App has been designed to help the child develop confidence in answering questions similar to those in the KS1 exam. The App offers 9 key topics from the KS1 syllabus and allows the child to practise again and again. The App keeps track of the child's progress and parents can review the results with their child to identify and discuss any weak areas. The topics covered are those from the UK Government's syllabus which includes: naming numbers, odds & evens, shapes, money, group addition, fractions, sequences, comparisons of numbers, and missing number equations (involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). A little dragon friend helps brings the app to life by reacting to your child's answers (if answers are correct the dragon gets happy and excited, if incorrect the dragon gets a little sad but then offers advice), so bringing fun and help to encourage your child to persevere. Your child will get to choose their dragon, and watch it hatch with the aim of creating an attachment to the dragon so your child may be more motivated when practising exam level problems. An endless amount of practice will allow your child to develop at their own speed, building their knowledge and confidence with each of the types of question they can expect to see in the exam. All the exercises in this App have been designed to be attempted at a steady pace without timers or other pressures, this is to help your child appreciate there is no need to panic in an exam. The realistic option of skipping a question is also included and if the child skips a question they are given the correct answer. In keeping with all other Unit 11 Apps, this App does not have In App Purchases!
