  • Hilariously terrible

I don’t know what algorithms they are using to detect depth but the effects are hilariously bad. Just try it (make sure you cancel the trial) - the blur around foreground people/objects is not realistic in the slightest. Not worth your time.
  • Photos accès

I can't limit the acces, why? Why they want acces to all my personal stuff?

    Developer Response

You can limit the photo access. Open your iPhone's Settings app, then find Phocus, here please tap Photos, then choose Limited Access.
  • Awful

    1. It can’t intelligently blur a video so the subject is in focus, it blurs everything.

    2. It makes photos taken in it look awful. The cartoon mode makes my spots 50x more visible, all the modes blur the subject

    3. It randomly crashes when I click on some buttons like portrait

    4. All the presets are hideous

Charged me I didn’t even use the app!!!

Hi, charges occur only when users actively subscribe and use our app. You can always request a refund by following the steps at this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084
  • The subscription

Now I didn’t not pay for one but I personally find it annoying that we can’t at least save our photos we use the app for. I understand you have to or want to make some money from your app but at least make us a free version why make the app free if we can’t do what we need for free.

  • Cannot save on iPad Pro (Still)

3rd Update: Able to save on iPad Pro now — excellent app to add some oomph to your photos. 👍🏼 👍🏼
  • App may be a virus?

I downloaded this app on my iPad to turn some photos into portraits, and right off the bat I gave it all permissions and nothing worked. It wouldn’t even load a photo so I couldn’t even edit anything. The app crashed multiple times, so I tried downloading it on my phone and trying again on there. It did not work on my phone either.

After giving up on it, both devices began acting strangely. Certain apps would get stuck on their opening screens or not work properly. I closed the app and tried again, but that didn’t work. I restarted my phone, but that didn’t work. I deleted the Phocus app and everything went back to normal. I thought it might have been some strange thing on my phone, but the same thing just happened on my iPad as well, except this time it eventually led to the device crashing. I deleted the Phocus app and so far everything seems back to normal. I’m using an iPhone 12 and the iPad Air (4th gen) both updated to the latest iOS version.

Update: Hi, we are sorry for the problem again. Phocus has been updated. We would appreciate if you can give us your feedback again after updating the app. First, we are sorry that you had a problem with the app. Second, thank you for your detailed explanation. Third, we assure you our app is certainly not a virus :). Last, we know some of our users have a crash problem, especially on their iPads: We are currently working on the app's next update and hope that all of our users can use the app without any problems with the next update.
  • Crashes too much

This app crashes entirely too much. I’ve only been able to use it about three times after multiple times of it crashing and exiting itself out of the app. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re in a rush or are looking for something solid.
  • Waste of your time and space on your phone.

Downloaded the app to see if it works for what I need it before I subscribed to the service. The app constantly crashes. Deleted it after 4 attempts. Don’t recommend it to anyone.
