What an amazing game! It's rare to have a kungfu hack and slash game, let alone one based on so many famous martial arts movies. I grew up watching a lot of these characters in so many different Asian movies so it brought back a wonderful nostalgia! So to have them together in one game is unbelievable. Even if you are unfamiliar with the characters, just know that there are so many characters to play with and such a variety of bosses to fight against, it's wonderful. On top of that, there's a great story that links them together.
Gameplay is surprisingly simple to pick-up. It's very fast and fluid but so satisfyingly fun when you pull off skill attacks. It's so addictive to keep pulling off combo and skill attacks because you feel so powerful and it really reflects the character's fighting style in the movies. I can tell that a lot of thought and love has gone into creating this game. It's a hack and slash game so there are repetitive elements to the gameplay but I didn't feel bored because of the level ups, challenges, different scenes and the story. I played with a controller attached to my phone and it worked fine. The dodge/evade button is very well balanced and useful in this game.
One annoying aspect to the game is at the end of a mission, when you defeat the boss, they immediately jump back to the dialogue between the characters without warning. Because I was hacking away at the buttons, I often miss a few lines of the continuation of the story. It's not a deal breaker though.
Overall, if you love martial arts movies, hack and slash games and pulling off immensely satisfying combo skill moves, you'll love this game.
