Leave a Review Cooking Diary® Restaurant Game
Fun but you need to spend money
It was fun up until they stopped giving adequate rubies for completed stories. Unless you’re willing to constantly fork out the cash for rubies you can’t really advance in the game. Sure you can spin the wheel and get 1 ruby a day or complete the story to gain 3 rubies but to upgrade one simple thing to advance in level it costs 9-11 rubies (there are at least 20 necessary upgrades per store). So you end up stuck on a level until an event begin so you can hopefully earn rubies to advance to the next level. This app advertising that there are zero forced Ads and that is true. However this is because you NEED to purchase in game to have fun.
Don’t get me wrong, the game is fun so definitely give it a try. It’s just personally I refuse to purchase in game if developers go out of their way to make it exhausting to play without spending real money. I don’t like people forcing my hand so I’ll be at my current level for a few weeks. :)
Also, apparently people use this as a dating app and like to talk suggestively and flirt in public chat. Public chat is SUPPOSED to be for 16+. Personally I’ve seen an adult male openly flirt with a girl who clearly stated she’s 15 and in highschool. So if your child or teen is playing remember creepy people and pedophiles exist so don’t let them play this unsupervised. If they are in a guild please read the guild chat often. Do not let your children or teens play this unsupervised!!Show lessDeveloper Response
Hi! We are sorry you had negative experience with our game. We appreciate your feedback and will pass it on to the development team.i never write reviews, but…
I have played this game on and off from when it first came out five years ago, and it’s one i always come back to. this is the first cooking game that i’ve found that you don’t HAVE to spend money after a certain point as long as you’re alright with waiting for upgrades (15 minutes, 4 hours, or 8 hours depending on the tier.) the only thing i’ve ever spent money on is the $5 monthly pass to get instant deliveries bc i’m impatient, but it’s totally doable without. it stays fresh because many of the restaurants are very different, the little story lines are cute, there’s constantly a lot of events going on to keep things interesting, there are lots of opportunities to earn the premium currency required for upgrades (events, achievements, daily quests, guild quests, story completions, leaderboard tiers) so if you stay in each restaurant long enough to earn the diamonds there, you will never have to buy currency. and if you find yourself short on the premium currency, you can go back to other restaurants and complete achievements, or if worst comes to worst, wait til tomorrow to do your daily quest and/or any new events to earn more. it’s a solid game, very fun, and it stays interesting. (and no, i’m not a bot and this isn’t a paid endorsement. this really is the best cooking game out there, and trust me, i’ve tried them all.)Show lessDeveloper Response

I I have been playing this game for years, before all the new bells & whistle. Before instant delivery before Adam is painting, making sculptures etc. I love the new additions BUT it seems the game is becoming beyond expensive. Why are we required to use rubies to upgrade the furniture twice? We are upgrading trays and trash cans for what? I rarely if ever throw food away. It just doesn’t make sense, and it’s not like the developers make it any easier or accessible to gain free rubies in the same capacity as we lose/ have to purchase things with them. I’m all for making the game difficult because that makes it fun but this is getting ridiculous. I’ve made tremendous progress and would hate to delete but you guys are making it more difficult. Hopefully you’ll actually take this review into consideration in future updates. Update: DO NOT DOWNLOAD. The complaints have fallen on deaf ears and it’s gotten even more ridiculous. They gave us free delivery with Dave then changed it to be only every 12 hours and that’s IF you pay for the path of glory. You get blue bucks as rewards for everything and yet can’t really use them for anything. The wheel of fortune is rigged, I’ve spun it legit 8 times (using money of course) and 6 of those 8 times I’ve gotten blue bucks. BACK TO BACK. I am so disappointed that after years of this game, time AND money invested I have to get rid of it.Show less
