  • Great app needs more speech sounds.

While I appreciate how much depth this goes into regarding not only articulation but a bit of language and reading—I would have preferred more phonemes. The available phoneme-focused stories are l, s, s blends, r, r blends, various vocalic r types and th. It would have been great to have had k, g, sh, ch, j or at least k, sh, ch stories. A very well designed app, but would have been 5 stars with more phoneme targeted stories.

  • Great App

I like this app because most stories have consistency and patterns that students can learn to identify.
As feedback, I would really appreciate an option to print the text from the stories so students can follow along independently. Also for mixed groups the printed text would allow different students to work on different things.

Please take this feedback into account.

    Thank you for your support,

  • Great App!

As a school-based SLP, this app has so many of the skills that I need to address in every session. Sequencing, comprehension, various reading levels, themes, articulation ...etc. Great app for home use too!
  • Where’s the articulation data collection?

Could someone help me figure out if there is some way to electronically collect data for articulation of sounds within these stories? I’m not seeing a way to do this for this app.

To collect data on articulation sounds press the "Stopwatch" button in the lower left corner of the story text field on the home screen. This will take you to the testing screen. Have the child read the story (or retell it if they are unable to read and you are only concerned about taking data for speech sounds). Then press stop when they have completed the story. After you have recorded the story you will have the option to score the story. You can mark each word in the story as a reading error, vocabulary error, or speech error. Reading errors are marked when a child struggles with reading the word. Vocabulary errors are marked if the child doesn't know what a word means (that is discovered by asking the child if they know what some of the more difficult vocabulary in the story means). Speech errors are marked when a child says the sounds in the word incorrectly. After the errors are marked and saved they can be reviewed in flashcards from the scores screen. If you ever have additional questions you can email us: hello@littlebeespeech(dot)com.
  • SLP Review

This is a wonderful and comprehensive app that targets articulation as well as language. The graphics are very appealing and the customization you can do as far as reading levels, specific sounds, and theme is great. However, there are a few tweaks I would LOVE to see made. I’d love to see the words lightlighted as the narrator reads the story. My younger students with more needs would benefit from this tracking. I would also love to see visuals accompany the words when doing the sequencing of the story. The wording is long and challenging for my lower readers to sequence. They would be able to sequence pictures from the story.

Thank you for your review! We're happy that you are enjoying Little Stories Pro. That's a great suggestion of having the words highlighted as the story is read. It's something that we are planning to implement in a future update. Adding visuals to the sequencing is also something we are considering.
  • I love this app!

I’ve only had this app for a few weeks and have used it with many of my students. The kids love the stories and they love listening to themselves from the audio recording. They always want to do it again to see if they can improve their score. I love all the features available and I’m excited to find new ways to use it with other students. I’ve encouraged several parents to get the app so they can use it at home. There are so many useful features. Totally worth the money!

  • Awesome App!

I absolutely love this app! Couldn’t wait to use it with my speech kids so I used it with my 6 year old cousin right away, working on articulation with her. She loves the stories and all of the many activities that go along with each one. I was able to target her sound errors as well as incorporate and expand her receptive and expressive language skills along with reading and comprehension. This app has 82 fun stories, flash cards, sight word lists, sequencing activities, WH questions .. as well as a record option while retelling the stories. She loves this feature! She also gets excited and giggly every time the little bee pops up as she completes the activities. When you think it can’t get any better, it does just that and she is thrilled about about the coloring pages for each story. Although there are so many activities, this app is very easy to navigate. I strongly recommend this app and couldn’t be any happier with it!

  • WOW! Happy SLP.

I just downloaded this while it was 40% off, a little bit on the fence about whether it was even worth the discounted price. BUT this app is amazing! It has so much in it and targets so many skills. I am so excited and can’t wait to show my patients. Just a brief example of what you can do with this app... select on of the (82) awesome stories, preview the vocabulary ahead of time and use the flash cards to practice the words and see their meaning, read the story, and then check comprehension through wh questions, sequencing, story retell, and more. So impressed.

  • So excited for this app!

I couldn’t download this app fast enough! I was lucky enough to see the demo of this app with the creators at the 2017 ASHA convention. I literally squealed with joy because I already had such an amazing experience with the other Little Bee app, that I couldn’t wait to see this one! I haven’t seen another app that incorporates so many different communication components. This has articulation, expressive language, comprehension, initiating, and the options go on. I currently work with preschoolers, but have worked with all school populations and could easily incorporate this app with any of them. I love that they have included how this will apply to the current standards because it makes goal writing and data collection so easy. There are so many different stories, and activities with each one. I couldn’t recommend this app any more and look forward to sharing my experience with my many colleagues (speech therapists and more). Thank you for bringing this to us!
