Unintuitive and confusing
I was totally lost most of the time, even after reading the whole guide. The guide is almost useless. While it contains a lot of information about what each feature does, it never really tells you how to start from the beginning, what to tap and where.
With almost every screen there are things that appear to be something you can or should tap or drag around but nothing happens. Then other things on the screen suddenly spring to life, but you don’t know why and what it actually does. What it most needs is a getting-started section that says: do this, then that.
The idea is cool, but it is far from an intuitive and visual way of making music. It was so confusing that I never got beyond accidentally making some noises, but I’m still not sure how I did it.
Response from developer
Hello! First of all, thank you for your purchase and your time you spend for the detailed review, sorry for the bad experience. I understand many of your points. There is still a lot of potential for mediation and we are doing our best to realize it. The idea behind the guide is to explain the principles of the app. We didn't have that in the previous versions. Now there is a lot of room for improvement, to guide you step by step through the app, e.g. through a Start Up section as you describe. That will also come and we are currently working a lot on communication through streams and tutorials are in progress. Unfortunately, we are only two people who are working on this ambitious project with a lot of passion, the developer and designer Stephan and me, Jakob, who organizes a lot of things. Like us, many people see the enormous potential. However, exploiting this potential requires a lot of time, passion, patience and support. Soniface will continue to develop over the coming years, also thanks to the feedback from users and their trust in us. We are therefore very happy when people send us direct feedback via email. Best regards to Canada!
