Lack of essential information for non-locals
I know the festival is mainly for Wrexham people but I’m a big fan of The Mysterines so I thought I’d make the short trip over from Cheshire to give it a try.
I had no difficulty buying a digital download ticket from Gigantic, but I only just discovered (from the FAQs, when searching the website in vain for advice on parking) that I also need to collect a wristband from somewhere in town or I won’t be admitted! It doesn’t say that anywhere on my ticket! And I’ve not had the usual confirmation emails from the venue, hence my need to resort to Google Maps and Parkopedia in desperation.
I’d love to travel by public transport but there isn’t a connection until the early hours of Saturday morning, so I’m forced to drive. I don’t know Wrexham at all, but I guess the side-streets and car parks will be jammed full of cars during the festival, so I’m beginning to regret my rather rash decision to attend.
It doesn’t look like the organisers have made any extra provision for visitors arriving by car.
The whole experience is not very welcoming or visitor-friendly to outsiders. I probably won’t attend again.
