Pointless app. Nothing but a web wrap.
I downloaded this app to support ordering directly from this small business, hoping to avoid any 3rd parties that charge them for order or delivery, only to find out that this app redirects you to GrubHub. It would be easier to bypass this app entirely and just go to GrubHub, instead of using this app to be redirected. It’s flat out an unnecessary step.
Ignoring that the app has been essentially abandoned for 2+ years with no updates, here ya go:
The ONLY native aspect of the app that LOOKS “great” is the ‘Contact’ portion, which lists usual business hours and map location. But that’s it. No phone number listed, although there is a ‘call us’ button at the bottom, along with ‘directions’, ‘email’, and ‘website’, all of which redirect you to either maps, email or, you guessed it, their website, but THROUGH the app.
Every aspect of this app is a web wrap.
‘Menu’ redirects you to their website THROUGH the app.
‘Order’ redirects you to Grubhub THROUGH the app.
‘Rewards’ has 3 listings, though I fail to see how they can track your activity for rewards since they’re redirecting you to GrubHub. AGAIN I WILL SAY, it would be easier to bypass this app entirely and just go to GrubHub instead of using this app to be redirected. Downloading this app is completely unnecessary.
‘Specials’ is obviously empty and unused because the app hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It also is apparently linked to in-app ‘inbox’ which is confusing and pointless.
Finally, settings. Extremely basic. Account information, which is basically just email, birthday (why?) and linked accounts (again, why?). There is also a ‘Privacy Policy’ section, but frankly it’s a bit laughable that it exists at all on this app. Oddly, the privacy policy states it was updated in June 2020, and yet the app hasn’t been updated in 2+ years?
If you’ve cared to read this far, I will end this with saying I have nothing against this business or their food. I love that it’s family owned. I love that ma-and-pa pizzeria’s like this are still thriving, and plenty of neighbors have recommended this as a great place to order pizza. That said, it is irresponsible to direct customers to use an app that is so poorly built and tended and basically is useless and is a poor user experience.
With SO MANY apps out that provide a clean user experience, if you can’t deliver that experience, don’t go half-way and then encourage all your customers to download it and waste their time.
