Amazing App!

I love this app. I am not particularly green fingered and this app has helped me keep my plants healthy. I only have a large balcony and I have been able to make a jungle oasis. There is some much information without being overwhelming. Easy to use and the layout is easy to follow. The information for each plant covers watering, fertilising, sunlight, temperature, soil type, pruning, common problems, etc, etc. By entering the location (country & whether indoors/outdoors), how much direct sunlight, size of pot and size of plant, it can give further info on all the nuances like quantity of water and whether it need repotting, etc.
The watering and fertilising reminders are a Godsend, as well as the diagnosis scan and sunlight checker. The identification scans have always been accurate and so useful.

One feature I would love to be added is ‘COMPANION PLANTING’ to check which are the best plants to plant next to a certain plant (and the distance, etc) and what are the worst. Also, to be able to select plants to see if they are well suited companions.

Changed my life! 💚

I never did gardening before this app, and the times that I tried my efforts failed, because I knew too little and had nobody to teach me, and I get distracted by life and forget to take care of my plants. Now I have a thriving edible garden that feeds my family, and I even got into bonsai, succulents, and flower cultivation, turned side hustle!! I love all of the features, but the identifications aren’t always correct and the database is missing some varieties (like acacia burkei). Wish it also had a reminder section for treatment of sick plants (currently only water and fertilise reminders). Otherwise, love your work! Keep it up x

NOT really free, very expensive and very sneaky app

7 days is NOTHING to be able to use this appropriately to identify any plants and weeds. I don’t understand why this is NOT a completely free app where you don’t force people to subscribe to the app after 7 days? It is very sneaky and misleading, because what happens if after 7 days you forgot to cancel the subscription but they continue to charge you for the subscription? The service should be provided COMPLETELY FREE at all times and only mandating payment if you want other additional in-app functions and you shouldn’t have to remember to cancel the subscription. I refuse to sign up for such a service no matter how good it is, simply on the principle that people should be given the freedom to opt in and not to be forced to remember to cancel a subscription. Also, the subscription plan is daylight robbery. They don’t even have a lifetime membership plan which I much prefer, so this is just money down the drain.

Life changing

As with their other ‘picture’ apps, it is literally life changing. All you do is take a picture of the plant and boom, the app tells you what it is! Most of the time it comes up with the answer, but if the photo is a big poor/the plant is a little ambiguous, it gives you a couple of options. As well as this it gives you information like the Latin name, if it’s invasive etc, and it usually lets you know if it’s poisonous in a descriptive paragraph - but if not, you can always search it. There is a premium subscription option for anyone who wants extra info (including plant health, cures for diseases it has, whether it’s poisonous, how to care for it etc), the option to save your identified species in the app for longer/save more species, and way more, but you can also use the app for free which is amazing!!! Although they have recently removed some features to make them subscription exclusive, I don’t mind because of how good the app is. If you garden, or are a plant lover, I’m sure the subscription would be worth it.
I 100% recommend not just this app, but all of their identification apps for sure. As someone who doesn’t get out and about too much, I still use it several times a month at minimum so it’s been worth it to keep the app around.

Probably my all time favourite app

I absolutely LOVE this app! So much knowledge at your fingertips.
If you are just a tiny bit curious about what’s growing in your garden or around you then I’d highly recommend using this app.
Not only the plant species but origins, culinary uses, diagnosis of plant health, advice on care, historical use - everything you could want.
If you’re like me by the time you’ve reached home after a walk or even come inside after being in the garden you’ve likely forgotten what you wanted to look up or have moved on to something else so this app is a perfect companion that allows you to find the answers straight away and keep the results by using the ‘save to my garden’ feature.
An absolute joy!

Genius

Have never left a review for an app but this is 100% worthy!!! Absolutely genius app! I have used it to identify which plants in our garden are problematic for hayfever sufferers to try to reduce my husband and son’s symptoms a little. I have used it to identify the position in relation to the sun that plants need to be replanted in if they’re not doing well where they are. I have used it extensively to identify plants and particularly weeds - to figure out what to keep and what to get rid of if it’s invasive. Plus I have learnt a tonne of info on each plant that we have and when I go shopping for more. My daughter loves using this app and has started using the names of plants when talking about them. Well done to the teams that developed this app - it has helped me learn so so much in such a short space of time - genius!

Free Option is Useful!

I use the free option and overall I would recommend this app for plant identification and plant care reminders. I try to use an app for a while before I write a good review. There are NOT annoying ads. Each time I open the app it does ask me to purchase the full version but I click “cancel” and move on. I use this app frequently to take pictures of plants and identify the species. For free you can also take pictures of plants you own and add them to “my garden.” You can add pictures over time and see a timeline of the growth of your plants which is cool. It will suggest proper water and fertilization schedules for your plants and you can set up reminders/notifications to water or fertilize each of your plants. On I-phone there is also a widget you can add to your screen for the care reminders, I like it more than just the app icon.

There are added benefits if you pay for it like bird identification and you can unlock more information about the plants you identify and you can use something called 360 identify which is supposed to be more accurate. I have used the bird identification before because it used to be part of the free option and it was accurate. I hope this helps someone else decide whether or not to try this app! It’s worth a download to compare it to other apps you are considering.

Fabulous and worth every cent!

We use PictureThis all the time around our own rural property to check on native plants and weeds or when we spy something we really like and want to know what it is. Also terrific for diagnosing plant problems. One of the best apps we have ever downloaded. Hats off to the designers!

💥PERFECT & QUICK ID of all Trees/Shrubs/Flowers

The Tree id aspect is especially helpful to me, in that I oversee several 100 acres of family timberland for family members for many years , where we try to professionally manage with the help of both private professional Consultant Foresters & NC State Foresters. We have a quite wide variety of hard woods & conifer trees, since we are on a dividing line between the mountains & the western Piedmont foothills & just have variety of trees, usually found only in the mountains or only in the Piedmont rolling Hills of our state!
Since a child I learned to id a leaf, needle, branches, cones, nut & shape of a tree, but I am not always right & without leaves, it’s harder for me & takes time! This app ids’s immediately for me, saving tremendous time & helps educate me to then notice the tree bark of the tree and other aspect, so that I can feel like I can then id on my own like a professional, Forester!?
As far as shrubs & flowers I’d, this has helped me ID shrubs and flowers. I have seen all over our state and outsider state that I found very appealing and therefore have used the app on my iPhone to ID and then buy these shrubs and plants for my home. I try to stick with native plants that will help maintain & increase populations of butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, other birds & other desirable wildlife that have been Decreasing in population For many many years, mainly because of decreased habitat!

The best app ever

This app is super useful. Almost always right (a couple of mistakes in identifying but the pictures might have been at a wrong angle).
Great advice!
Love the scheduling feature!

If I could ask for anything it would be to add a reminder ability for treatments for pesticides (natural or otherwise).
