Does not work
I was hoping this would be an easy way around YT’s recent ad-block crack down, as the free ad-blockers I’d been using have recently stopped consistently working. Even though this was a paid option, I figured it may be worth paying for, as long as the end result worked. Unfortunately, after working mostly fine for 2 days, today it is also no longer performing its function, which is the same result I got from the free ad-blockers. So what exactly is worth paying for here? I didn’t even end up having to use the full 30 days of the free trial, because it stopped working after 2 days.Show lessSolar_Nova2002

We are continually improving our YouTube ad blocking to workaround any issues that arise when YouTube changes their approaches and introduces new anti-ad blocking techniques. As you note, sometimes this may result in a small period of time when issues may crop up on YouTube, but we are dedicated to minimising this as much as feasible. We will have a new release due this month which will ensure all YouTube ads are blocked without any problems if you wanted to give the app another try once this v4.5.3 release is available.hard to set up
after I signed up for the free trial, I followed all instructions. But I got stuck when it said to go to the Safari app and and chose Aa, chose Magic Lasso Pro, There were tons of choices. the only trouble was, I could not find Magic Lasso pro. I tried and tried and tried and now I'm getting so tired. I just have to quit.Show lessnickname I have none

Sorry for the difficulties you experienced. We have tried to make Magic Lasso as easy as possible to setup but some more advanced features can be a bit tricky as it requires some co-ordination and jumping between the Magic Lasso, Safari and Settings apps on your device. The sequence you mentioned is only required if you want to see the Performance Insights for a website, otherwise for normal day to day ad blocking you shouldn't need to access this screen. I saw an ad for this on Six Colors, and gave it a try. After installing on my Apple devices, I was amazed at how good it was. Compared to all the free options out there, this one works better. Better than 1Blocker, Wipr, still my best & favorite to use. Have a lifetime subscription to 1Blocker but Magic lasso by far takes the cake in terms of everything. Just try it & forget it as you won’t look back.J29fff

But it seems to have been dropped.
I was using it successfully and went to mess w my extension settings. When I tried setting them back to how they were, it no longer blocked ads.Prosumer

From the start of this year, Magic Lasso includes a 30 day free trial which includes access to all features before any payment is required. However, so that we have a sustainable app and can continue to provide ongoing support, updates and new features, a subscription is required following the 30 day trial period. Unfortunately with the previous free app model not enough users subscribed to enable us to continue ongoing development. This is why the app was changed so that a 30 day trial is available instead.Seeking money
This app is a list of hosts to block, implemented fairly well, and updated weekly. Should be free and community supported. This group has decided to require payment. Opening in marketplace for this simple functionality offered at zero cost.•🫀•

Thank you for your feedback – as you note, a lot of work goes into regularly updating all of the ad blocking lists to ensure that Magic Lasso Adblock continues to block all ads, trackers and annoyances across the web. This is something that occurs every week, if not every day. We also support all the latest features of the iPhone, iPad and Mac; ensuring this is the best ad blocker available on those devices with support for native platform features. We'd love to be able to do all of this work for free but a lot of effort and sweat goes into this work. For an app to be sustainable we do need to be able to charge for the time involved.Ad Blocker
Just tried about a dozen other sites and could not get rid of the ads. What are these apps thinking? Also, Google has come out of their cave; and is helping me remove the ads after ignoring me for almost a year. I don’t know if it’s you or google that’s primarily responsible for removing the ads, but I will keep your site on my phone for now. Thank you very much. Worked great during trial period
After my payment was made the worst of the ads were back. Some ads are still gone but the ones that made me decide to try ML came back. There doesn’t seem to be anything I can do about it now except cancel for next year.magic lasso hater

The ad blocking should be the same in both the trial and non-trial period. Perhaps there is something else on your system which has caused these issues? If there is particular sites that are causing problems, please let us know via feedback@magiclasso.co and we'll fix them as part of our ongoing free ad block rule updates.
