Really Disappointed
I purchased this app years ago when it was just starting out, when it was originally a paid app and once you paid the less than $5 it was yours to keep. Really disappointed to see that this developer sold out and started a premium subscription, and even more disappointed that they couldn’t grandfather-in those who already purchased the app. Just plain greedy. The “free” version (which actually wasn’t even free for me as I originally paid money to buy the app) is basically unusable.Show lessDeveloper Response

While our old version was a great proof of concept, it had a limited infrastructure that prevented us from introducing the most requested features from our customers. As a result, we built a new foundation with an upgraded writing experience. It features automatic backups, multi-device sync, and advanced writing tools, including improved chord functionality, light multi-tracking, and new rhyme/word tools. These new features, along with more to come, would not have been possible without shifting to a subscription model. We appreciate your feedback and understand the concerns about changes in pricing. This looks like a useful app. I would love to try it, but there is absolutely no way to make the text larger. There is some implementation of the systemwide text accessibility, but it does not do anything to the actual text for song lyrics. So the app could be great, but if I can’t see it, it is completely useless. It is very sad when developers do not prioritize accessibility from the start.
I planned to write the developer directly, but the links in the app to request support or suggest a feature seems to require that I use the built in Apple Mail app. I do not, so I have no way to reach out the to developer. Overall, this was a bad app experience.Show lessDeveloper Response

I've been a Songwriter Pro user for years, and after a recent update led to the app crashing on my phone, one of the two founders / owners of Songwriter Pro personally reached out to address the issue. This company is run by musicians, and they get it. Their dedication to resolving problems and regular follow-ups impressed me. In a digital age, the personal touch stood out, making me value Songwriter Pro even more. If I could, I'd give them 10 stars. To everyone on the leadership team at Songwriter Pro, thank you.
