Description of Walka Birds

This app has been designed as an information resource for students and visitors. It introduces freshwater birds, woodland birds and raptors using detailed information to assist in the observation and understanding of birdlife in the Walka environment. From natural wetland, to one of the most significant 19th century water treatment systems in Australia, Walka has evolved into a refuge for over 140 species of birds and an endangered vegetation community. The app is designed to help students focus first on the overall shape of the bird and then use various visual field marks for identification. Viewing areas suitable for observing wildlife are located along the Lake Trail and can be used in conjunction with this app.
