More

1.3

October 17, 2019

• Dark Mode and iOS 13 compatibility. • Requires iOS 11 as a minimum. • Improvements to robustness of HomeKit operations See the latest Release Notes in the user forum for details https://www.aircompare.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10

More

1.2

August 21, 2019

• Removed the tiny "Error" text that occasionally appeared on the Home screen. • Fixed a bug that could cause the green fan icon to spin on the Home screen without first making a valid connection to a HomeKit fan or Window. • Added the ability to set a temperature increase at night, by selecting a negative value for "Nighttime cool-down °". • Changed the Open/Close algorithm so that the advice to Open requires a more significant enthalpy advantage (of 0.3 BTU/lb) AND an outdoor temperature not more than 3° above (in summer) or below (in winter) the desired thermostat set point. Leaving the windows closed more often will leave the indoor conditions under HVAC control more often. The choices of 0.3 and 3.0 are arbitrary and may need future tweaking. • The app now checks whether the user has disabled Background Refresh for the app or globally. If so, an alert will show when the user accesses the in-app Settings table. See the latest Release Notes in the user forum for details https://www.aircompare.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10

If you see no updating, the limit has been reached for the day. • Fixed an issue that interfered with reinstalling the app • Misc. streamlining See the latest Release Notes in the user forum for details https://www.aircompare.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10

Price History of AirCompare™

Description of AirCompare™

AirCompare™ reduces home energy consumption and saves you money by providing two smart tools, a ventilation controller and a thermostat controller. Both smart controllers can be used “manually” to give you advice on how to best adjust your ventilation and thermostat. AirCompare™ can also be configured to automatically control your HomeKit-enabled windows, fans and thermostats. The AirCompare™ ventilation controller calculates the energy content of your home’s interior air and compares it to the air outside. If you can get free heating or cooling by just opening your windows, AirCompare™ will make it happen! What if rain is coming? AirCompare™ checks your local weather for current and forecasted rain. You can decide how sensitive AirCompare will be to rain in the forecast. For instance, you might choose to leave your windows closed for the night if the chance of rain in the next 8 hours is 30% or more. The AirCompare™ thermostat controller uses your preferences, combined with an analysis of current conditions, to optimize the setting of your thermostat. AirCompare™ uses current electricity rates (where available) and your local weather forecast, along with your preferences, to calculate the ideal setting at any moment. The optimum setting balances your comfort against the expected cost of heating or cooling. For instance you might choose to tolerate a higher summer temperature when electricity rates are peaking, and enjoy a cooler temperature when electricity is less expensive late at night. You might turn off your A/C if you know a cold front is due soon. AirCompare™ simplifies your life by considering all the data and making these complex decisions for you.

  • Just started to use this

    Let's see how it goes
  • Has saved me money!

I have been using this app for a while now and it’s really nice to see it’s helping me save money on my electricity bill! I don’t have a home kit thermostat to use with it but I just pay attention to the notifications and then make changes using the info it recommends. I would highly recommended checking with your electricity supplier if your home or business qualifies for pay by the hourly rates program before using this app for best results! Why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because of the following reasons. • It may seem a little intimidating when you first open the app and see all the settings and numbers. After a while it becomes easier to understand. • You do need a iPhone to use it. • Like I mentioned above, you should be on a hourly pay rate plan to fully use this to save money. Kinda out of luck for anywhere that doesn’t qualify for that service.
