  • Good app

I like having the app so I can listen at work. I only wish it was apple car play compatible so I can listen to it easily in the car.
  • No longer interacts with Apple Music?

I love the Public’s Radio, but the app has all of a sudden stopped working with my Apple Home Pod. It’s not an issue of Wi-Fi or network as all other apps still integrate with my speakers. The only way i can broadcast it in my speakers is if i open the app on my iPhone then play it from there through the HomePod. This had been an occasional issue but has been consistent for the past few weeks. Bummer! NPR is my main news source and I enjoy the ability to play my local affiliate throughout my house. Is there an issue on my end? Or is this how it will be?

  • Please add a sleep timer

Love to listen to RIPR and often listen to the BBC to fall asleep. A sleep timer would make this app more useful. As it is, I either have to wake up to turn it off, or let it run all night.

Other than that, I like the app. Works great.
  • Very useful - please keep improving app

Thank you to RIPR for releasing a new app for iOS. It does a good job of allowing you to listen to the radio station.

Please continue to work on the app to make it a fantastic app.

    - Screen rotation is not respected. This causes really strange behavior when switching between apps.

    - Central pause/play button in app becomes out of sync with audio stream when system sound occurs

    - The stream should auto restart after a background system sound.

    Thanks.

  • Wait! What?

This app opens and connects quickly and easily. It then disconnects just as the story on the radio turns an important corner. This is not just a WiFi to Cellular issue. It happens on just WiFi all the time.
I have a similar issue on my Amazon Echo with the Publics Radio skill (or lack thereof!).
The best way to get RINPR is still on a radio.

  • Transition between WiFi and cellular needs work

The app provides great access to programming, but cannot handle the transition from Wi-Fi to cellular or cellular to Wi-Fi. Each time you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network the app stops playing. A previous review noted this issue over one year ago. It’s time to get some attention.
  • Terrific Content but technically flawed

I’m close to giving up on streaming as the connection does not hold. I can listen for a minute and then silence. No automatic reconnection. Come On NPR. Please fix this. You provide a valuable service it what good is it if the connection can’t be maintained.
  • Does what you expect

A fine app, though it seems like it burns thru a battery. Open it at 100% and half an hour later it is at 50%. Seems like there is stronger background activity than previous versions.
  • Frustratingly unreliable

Really disappointing app. It frequently cuts out for no apparent reason and won’t come back. Easier to stick with WGBH.
  • Great station, garbage app

Since the update, it will turn on randomly, even during phone calls! Worse, it doesn’t show up in your running apps, so no way to turn it off or even know which app the sound is coming from!

Deleted the app, and back to live-streaming from the website again.
