I can’t figure out costs, benefits, drawbacks, insulation, wind loading, warranty or any of the differences and specifications that would help me make a decision. Even the aesthetic selection system is bad, with no style selection like art deco, traditional, modern pacific… it is extremely laborious and pointless. This app would have been so much better if it looked at what consumers thought was important in addition to the look of the door. Look is important, but it’s also important to get an idea of cost and warranty. Even if it’s just $, $$, $$$ or $$$$. Same with warranty, wind loading, material or insulation.
This app has the appearance of people just starting to code away without anyone developing a set of criteria and goals. Supremely amateurish. Wayne-Dalton probably builds great doors, but this app sure as heck doesn’t highlight that. Terrible effort. Makes Wayne-Dalton look like they’re out of their league. It’s the developer’s shoddy work, but Wayne-Dalton’s poor oversight that brought about this hot mess. No fun to use.
Updating the look of your house by updating some of the biggest street facing features should be fun. It makes a huge difference to replace shoddy old doors with fresh up to date ones. Using this app should be like going to a milliner. Every hat should be a delight and highlight a different part of your personality. The app should also educate, be easy to use, fast and encourage the customers creativity. I really hope they redouble their efforts. An app is a good idea, but the execution is just horrible.
