Description of Back

Back-Gammon is more-or-less identical to the traditional board game. Any differences are really cosmetic. Backgammon is one of the oldest board games known. It is a two player game where playing pieces are moved according to the roll of dice. A player wins by removing all of their pieces from the board before their opponent. Backgammon involves a combination of strategy and luck and, whilst the dice may determine the outcome of a single game, the better player will accumulate the better record over a series of many games. With each roll of the dice, players must choose from numerous options for moving their checkers and anticipate possible counter-moves by the opponent. Backgammon playing pieces are known generally as checkers or pips. The objective is to remove (bear off) all of your own checkers from the board before your opponent can do the same. At the beginning of each game the checkers are set to predetermined positions. As the game progresses they may be blocked or hit by the opponent. To start a new game touch the new game button. Each time you play Back-Gammon 100 points are deducted from your score. The dice are rolled by clicking on the dice button and checkers are moved by dragging them with your finger. Initially you are given 1,000 points with a bonus of 500 points being awarded each subsequent day that you play. By default the time you have to move is not limited. A 20 second timer can be enabled by touching the menu button on the red bar at the bottom right of the board and changing the settings.

  • Horrible

Played one game & it was all it took to decide to delete it. First, it costs points to play each game & I’m sure you’ll have to jump through hoops to get more points. I want to play, not perform dozens of tasks to just play. Second, if you don’t move right away you lose your turn. What crap. The board moves are so mechanical that it feels like a computer game of years gone by.
    Don’t waste your time!

The move timer was on by default. This has now been changed to be off.
