Description of NGF Nutrition

NGF Nutrition is a professional food and activity logging tool that can only be activated by an authorized nutrition counselor. You log into NGF Nutrition by using your username and password that was provided by the counselor when your web-based cloud account is set up. Your nutritional and weight management goals are set up by the counselor on your web cloud account, then pushed to the NGF Nutrition app. These nutritional and weight management goals include your daily calorie budget, goal weight, BMI, macronutrient ratios and other important factors that attribute to better overall health, nutritional habits and weight control. How it works: Once you login to NGF Nutrition app you can log foods and activities to track your daily amount of calories consumed or burned during activities, and compare those numbers with what has been established by your counselor. NGF Nutrition's cloud account also allows logging online via a web-based portal. Regardless if you log on your phone or the cloud account, all data is synced up and down. This logged information can then be viewed and monitored by your nutrition counselor for better coaching and compliance to your personal plan. Step up your goals with wearable device steps and calorie tracking with Apple Watch, Simply sync your wearable device with your profile and let NGF Nutrition do the rest! With step and calorie counting with Apple Watch you can now stay on track with up to date daily activity logging. To enable automatic syncing with Apple HealthKit, login to your profile, go to Settings >Optional> and activate “Enable Apple Watch Sync” NOTE: TO USE NGF Nutrition YOU WILL NEED TO LOGIN WITH YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD PROVIDED BY YOUR NUTRITION PROFESSIONAL. • Not Good

Leaving this negative review in hopes that the app will improve. I WANT to use this tool to improve myself. This is supposed to be a tool for tracking nutrition, but I t’s wildly difficult to find the foods you want to enter if you’re not eating a primarily western diet. It’s even difficult to enter fresh produce. The food bank seems to only be updated by the users themselves. There is a barcode scan option that I have found will not work if the barcode is on a rounded object like a can. The daily view is fine, but it would be nice to be able to look back and see macros for a different day than today. It would also be nice to see aggregated data or be able to export it to summarize the data on your own. My trainer seemed to have to go to each day to view my trends, so they were basically eyeballing it instead of being able to concretely identify that I need to work on lowering my fat macros or whatever other trend. Most annoying is that foods entered will arbitrarily disappear and reappear. I’ve already paid for a different app through the end of the year so I’m double entering and double checking that the calories are in the same ballpark and then going back to see if my entries exist anymore or if I need to re-enter them in this app. I was told to use this with the exercise inspire app, but there does not seem to be any integration so it seems a rather pointless tool compared to other options on the market. There’s even an Apple Health integration but not an integration to the exercise app. I’m only continuing to use this because my trainer doesn’t have access to any other tools to see my nutrition. NGF, you’re doing a disservice to your employees and consumers by not updating this app.
