Description of CodestrokeNeurology

CodestrokeNeurology enables neurologists to review patient data before the neurologist even conducts an examination of the patient. When the neurologist is in the ER, he or she can add on to or update data provided by CodestrokeAmbulance and CodestrokeEmergency. SSL is used to secure transmission of data to a remote server. The data once stored in the database is encrypted at rest. These protocols follow HIPAA Safe Harbor guidelines. After the neurologist adds data, he or she will be notified if the patient data was successfully updated. A final timestamp (unique to CodestrokeNeurology) is generated, which can be used for record-keeping by various medical agencies. 1) This app is intended to be used by neurologist doctors, treating an acute stroke patient. 2) The application serves as a secure communications tool, using HIPAA-compliant SSL encryption, for the above professionals to provide early notification of a patient's status. It is intended to supplement, but not replace the primary medical communications channel. It is mostly a tracking tool primarily, which, while not incorporating all concepts of telemedicine (audio/video), is very useful nonetheless. 3) The application is free and not intended to access paid content/services. 4) Users need to register for this free service directly with the company before they can use the app.
