Description of SeaLevels

The Sea Levels Project was born out of a love for the environment, a concern over inaction, and a lack of simple to use educational tools. Almost all scientists agree that the global climate is changing, and that sea levels are rising, with an increase in the rate of rise very likely to be caused by humans. When it comes to action it is of no consequence whether the cause of climate change is man-made or natural - it still poses an increasing threat to humanity.  We believe that education is an essential step for us as a species to find a solution. Whilst no mobile application could ever hope provide an answer we can help by providing an informational tool.

Reviews of SeaLevels

  • Sea level rise has one problem

If you don’t read Cyrillic, or Chinese characters, or Arabic characters, you can’t read the place names in over half the world. If you guys could fix this, you’d get five stars for me. After all where is your audience largely? I suspect it’s in the western world.

  • A great and timely app

I had been looking for something like this for several years so I was amazed to find it as an app. Simple to use and as accurate as you could expect for such an enormous project. Allows you to look at any coastline or region in the world and adjust sea level up to +70 meters to see what landforms or cities are submerged at that level. It takes a number of seconds after zooming in to see the results of the change in sea level, so be a little patient.

My thanks and congratulations to Robert Smith, the project developer.
