The modified file is sent to a three axis mill to carve a positive model of the patient's limb that is used to fabricate the custom brace. For carbon fiber and composite braces, a vacuum lamination process is used. For aircraft aluminum braces, the metal parts are hand-contoured to intimately fit the leg model.
