  • Too expensive, wants money for everything!

Got this on the strength of a YouTube recommendation which said it was worth paying the small amount.
First I paid out £3.99 to make it ad free thinking that was it. But then it wanted further payments for every feature separately such as hashtags, progress bar, subtitles and removing the obvious watermark. (More a banner thank a watermark). I didn't add it up but I think it would be around £30 or more too use every feature. Maybe if this is essential to your online business it would be a good bit of kit but for a casual user it's way too expensive. Now deleted.

  • Not Impressed

A lot hassle to find that you can only add a Title for free, although it is isn’t really free as they add a massive watermark advert on the photo. Not cheap either, if you want to upgrade. Avoid this app unless to are happy with paying silly money for a basic app.
  • Traps

WARNING: This app traps you into purchasing more and more as you compete your video. They charge you $30 to keep the captions, then another $30 after that to remove the watermark. They are bottom feeders. Do not use buy this app. They will take total advantage of you.
  • Quick & Easy

Brilliant tool to add and edit subtitles to videos. The paid features are worth it to create engaging videos for social media without the hassle of desktop editing. (Some of them were more expensive than I would have liked but the overall value and quality makes up for it)

I’d like to see the ability to save a project. Rather than having to save the video and start again if you’d like to change anything.

Another point of feedback is that when you exit the app and come back to it, it does not remember the point you left it if you were adding subtitles. And pressing play doesn’t work. You have to go to the main page then click subtitles for it to work again

Great updates so far, I’d like to see autocorrect in the subtitles feature. Currently, it doesn’t do simple auto correction for spelling errors or typos. This would be super helpful!

I’d still like to see the ability to save a project. Rather than having to save the video and start again if you’d like to change anything.

Could we change the subtitle style for all subtitles rather than one at a time? Would be great.

  • Fail!

Tried it out. Edited a video with subtitles and none of the work showed up in the saved video! It left the stupid EXAMPLE TEXT on there and not my subtitles. I backed up to the edit mode and bam, all that work is gone!
  • DO NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING ON THIS APP

They don’t tell you the prices upfront and there are 3 layers of pricing, totaling out to over $60+ — they also make you go through the entire process of captioning your video before telling you have to pay to download the video with captions. They wasted my time on the app and wasted my time on the phone with the App Store to get a refund because after finishing the video and paying $25, they ask for another $25 to remove the watermark— I wish I could give zero stars.

    Developer Response

We are sorry about your experience! We recently started testing the results with higher prices, but will now start lowering them once again and will keep testing until we find the sweet spot, that is best for our customers and makes the most sense for us business-wise, as well. We apologise once again and agree that there need to be some changes. We plan on integrating something like a popup saying e.g. "This is a premium feature available for $X.XX, but you can now try out for free and only pay if you like it!”, because this was the initial idea behind the current user flow. We thought unlike in other apps where you would have to pay upfront to use a feature without even fully knowing if the feature works as advertised and risking paying for an In-App Purchase you don’t like, users would appreciate it, if they can try it out free of charge. Also I would like to mention, that there is also many - mostly silent - users who really like using the app, our customer support and the fact that we do not offer any subscriptions, but one-time payments. Just recently I was messaging a customer who wants to build his entire social media presence/business using our app to create video memes and add subtitles to videos, for him this investment in our In-App Purchases was a no-brainer. So for some users $60 for some features would be a fair price, for others even $2.99 would already be outlandish and they want everything for free. I guess it depends on what you use it for. Just like with everything else pricing is subjective, some people are willing to pay $5 for a t-shirt, some $500. I guess you can’t please everyone. Nonetheless I wish you a happy day and good luck with your project!
  • Don’t use.

I knew there would be in app purchases. But I didn’t expect to spend an hour editing a video (should have been 10 minutes but the interface is garbage) only to get hit up after the fact for $29. At least tell me what it costs up front. I may have actually paid it if I hadn’t already figured out how bad the functionality was.

  • Very disappointed. Beware!

Spent 30 minutes typing out the captions then at the end, surprise....surprise...All you work will be lost unless you pay for it. So okay fine I did. I paid for it and then another pop up to pay for something else. Almost $40 later my video is downloaded and the sound doesn’t match the video. It has latency issues. Not happy at all.

The app’s practices are very disingenuous. You need to be upfront with the costs, and not let user get committed spending valuable time on the app, so they have no choice but to pay for it at the end, otherwise all their effort and time is wasted.

If you were upfront with these charges, I may have still paid for the app, but my rating would not be so bad. My only issue would only be the latency issue.

  • Shady app - expect to pay $60 to use all features

I’ve no problem on paying the price they are charging. My issue is that they are very shady with their business model. Tell upfront how much is the price and we will pay for it. Read all the reviews you have here, 80% of them complained about the same issue and the developers always copy and paste the same answer. Saying they are working on it and promising to get a popup before you try each feature but they didn’t do anything about it.

Awesome app and features, shady business model. I paid for the features but I honestly won’t use this app anymore. Very bad customer experience. You guys are going to get a lot of new customers but very few returning customers. A business with a low customer’s LTV is not going to survive for long. It costs more money to acquire a new client than to maintain them.

  • Dude! FIX YOUR APP.

I paid for the feature to unlock the social media tags at the end and it locked back up and when I tap it nothing happens. I'm sure you've had this complaint for years.

If you're not interested in fixing it, sell it to me or someone that can fix it and I'll hire someone to fix it.
