Informative but not uplifting (may change)
I’m still actively giving this a shot, but so far, it seems like this has the same problem a lot of “good news” distributors. The stories generally show a very thin silver lining to depressing issues, and the optimism is ultimately lost.
The discovery of a extremely small population of animals in a species that is rapidly going extinct regardless; organizations providing small and limited relief to huge populations of trafficking victims; undeveloped and minor scientific findings for huge environmental issues whose main cause is corporate negligence. So on. It ultimately ends up as a showcase for extremely horrible and distressing situations, and only totes treatments for symptoms rather than solutions.
It’s good if you’re looking for quick daily refreshers of current issues. But ultimately, in trying to draw awareness and attention to important discussions (albeit a noble task), the stated goal of the app is lost. Reading about sexual abuse and animal cruelty doesn’t feel great. I leave the app feeling worse, which is the exact opposite of what I was hoping for. Will continue to use and see if I get a different impression over time.Geigas

Valuable app
Good News helps me manage during these challengingly negative times. There is so much hopeful and meaningful news and yet major news networks don’t report it. I’ve learned that Good News is where it’s at. Instead of bringing me down it inspires me and I often share stories from it and I encourage others to get the app and to make a monthly commitment to the service so it can continue.
