High aspirations that have some way to go
The good: +you get a German mobile number that (allegedly) never expires - as long as the company exists - it would be better if the number could be ported
+worked for most calls that I made for evaluation purposes
+people can (supposedly) call your number just like any other German mobile number
The bad: -you can neither send nor receive text messages
-you cannot just copy and paste a number you’ve found online, you have to manually type it in - please, sipgate, that’s an easy fix for you to provide to make the app more usable
-number suppression is not an option available in settings but has to keyed in for each call - another easy fix to add usability
-call quality was a mixed bag for the limited number of calls made
-you need wifi or a separate data pack to use the service
If sipgate can provide reliable text messaging, this will be a product worth paying for, if not, it’s usefulness is questionable as one might as well receive calls through a VOIP landline.
For expats/travellers there are multiple attractive choices for data as well as international flat rate calling and texting - but not with a German mobile number.
I‘m hoping that Satellite/sipgate can solve the texting issues rather sooner than later.
If AI transcription for voicemail works reliably across multiple languages, this will be a highly useful feature.

Feed back and new inbox
Satellite use to be a good app but then they started to ask for feedback after every call. Once a year would be really enough people. The new Inbox is a nightmare. I wish they had an option to stay with the old UI or at least made it so it’s less click and simple and less flashy colors.rnetter

You are out of luck when Satellite Service does not work
When Satellite Service works, it is excellent. However, when it does not work, customer service is nonexistent. I have reached out to your customer service help directly several times and have not received any reply other than an automated reply. Very disappointing. Instead of replying to feedback on the App Store maybe it would be a good idea to actually help customers in need. Just saying.Show lessiET Calling Home

Satellite ist eine coole App, die ich seit den Anfängen gerne nutze! Grundsätzlich eine sehr gute App mit einfacher Bedienungsführung. Zwei Punkte, die für mich immer noch verbesserungsfähig sind:
- SMS: ist das Thema eingestampft oder können wir noch darauf hoffen? Wann? Leider ist SMS noch immer eine notwendige Realität und mit Satellite nicht darstellbar… Hoffe, das tut sich noch etwas.
– Gesprächsqualität: je mehr Apps geöffnet sind, umso schlechter die Gesprächsqualität - außerdem Schließen von Apps, gibt es andere Lösungen?
– Festnetznummern: gibt es die Möglichkeit von satellite/sipgate eine Festnetznummer für die satellite App zu bekommen/einzurichten?

Perfect first start animation and no service after all.
One can’t just download the app and start using it. You gave to wait for a special permission from someone on the other side of the app to grant you an access for which you will be actually have to pay.
I never got this invitation. Neither the body of mine.

I used to really enjoy this app because it worked well and relatively reliably. However since the last 1 1/2 weeks, I can only use it on WiFi. It will not work on LTE anymore. I discontinued their Satellite Plus Service since it does not work on LTE.Developer Response
