Another app ruined with an ‘update’

I loved this app and was working my way through the puzzles. It not only now have adds running the whole time but they cover the puzzle if enlarged even slightly. So disappointing. There was no option for buying it and not having add or to keep the old format to continue as was.

Enjoyed distraction

I enjoy losing myself in a word puzzle. Just wish I could review to be able to retain the new material I didn’t know before.

First let me assure you that I have no interest in trolling, neither do I have an involvement in your competition. There is frustration with a number of aspects of your crosswords which have led to numerous discussions with the family. I take on board your response in terms of damage my first review could cause your business. This was not my intention and I have decided to remove these comments.

This is very low effort trolling, and patently false. Our small team puts in a monumental effort to produce what we consider to be crossword puzzles of the highest quality. Poor ratings like this hurt us as a developers. If you are working for a 'competing' app, please reconsider your choices.

Reads clipboard data without user input

Opened the app to see the notification that the app had pasted from the clipboard. This app also doesn’t disclose how user data is handled. Would give 0 stars if I could.

We are in the final stages of the update process and version 2.1 of our app will be available soon. We hope that you will reconsider your rating once we have updated our app.

Awful! Clues on the grid make for a very messy interface. Back to a normal looking crossword app for me

Hi Chicken Potpar, thank you for rating our app. This style of crossword is called an 'arrow word' or a 'Swedish crossword' and differs from the US/NYT or British style crosswords you may otherwise be familiar with. This is explained clearly in the App Store descriptions and in all of the screenshots. We're disappointed that you didn't like our app, but rating us 1-star for delivering exactly what we promise is pretty unfair, wouldn't you agree?

Very frustrating formatting

The way this puzzle is laid out is as if you’d zoomed in to a normal crossword grid about three notches too far. Not only can you not see the whole grid, you can’t always see the whole word in one glance, much less all of what it’s crossing with, and the clues are placed in the grid itself in a very confusing fashion.

Hi Loonytick, thank you for rating our app. The style of our crossword does indeed differ from the standard North American crossword puzzle- ours is created in the Swedish style, called an Arroword, which may be foreign to some of our North American users. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the layout of our puzzles. We have tried to balance overall legibility with squeezing our decently-sized puzzles into a tiny box, and we believe that we'e found the happy medium that works for most of our users. We are disappointed that our app is not the app for you, and we hope that you will find a crossword puzzle that you love too.
