Reviews of Maze

  • Maze: Nightmare Realm by LynxMinx

Although I have enjoyed this series, I felt that this installment was not nearly as good as its predecessors. The storyline of entering a reverie to defeat monsters was banal. You could customize settings. The graphics reflected the generalized gloom of a nightmare, but they were very dark. There was an in-game teleport map to transport you instantaneously between locations. At each location the collectible was a zany swirl, and some were quite challenging to find. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. Considering that this was Mad Head, I was disappointed that the HO scenes were not more unusual, and that we didn’t have different perspectives to examine objects. Morphing objects were confined to the HO scenes. Most of the puzzles/games were either very simplistic or repetitive. The general gameplay was enjoyable, because you must think outside the box to solve certain tasks, and inventory usage was somewhat inventive. However, this game had some touch screen sensitivity issues and it was hard to manipulate certain items. I really got tired of seeing the phrase “that won’t work” when I was utilizing the correct item! The dialogue refresh rate needed to be a lot quicker. This game was extremely short inclusive of the bonus adventure. Normally Mad Head gives us a much longer gaming experience! My true rating will be 3.5 stars. I deducted stars for length, lack of a strong storyline, and for touch screen sensitivity issues. Next week on Thursday we should be getting a new game from Artifex Mundi. Thank you to Catalina for sharing the information you got from Five BN; I sure hope they work out their issues because everyone is looking forward to the sequel to Legacy. Happy gaming, everyone! Update: No new game today! What are they going to do to us on Monday, give us nothing and a Memorial Day sale?
  • Glitchy bonus chapter and you BF know!!!

I played this game many times and never had this problem so I suspect it has emerged as you have tried to fix something else. Never mind you’ve been warned over and over about problems in the bonus chapter. Right now, my problem is with the inventory disappearing in the bonus chapter. I got to the room on the second floor when you need to hold up the trunk lid with the forked rod. The inventory space is so wide, you can’t get to the rod (see attached photo). And what’s with taking away the strategy guide? Five years old it’s too soon to be taking the support system. I see this all the time with your games just a few years old. Do something about it because people like to play these games again, and again and I will add you say buy it once and play forever yeah, I don’t think so
