This app is the reason I’m obsessed with comics, however, there is one thing that really annoys me. I’ve been spinning the daily wheel every day for the past month in hopes of getting a daily free ticket, because a lot of the comics need gems to unlock them. But everything time I spin and watch ads, it always lands on the one next to the free ticket. I really love this app, but please make the probability of getting free tickets higher.

I miss the way it used to be
I had been using this app for almost four years. I always found joy in downloading comics to read offline without the worry of it requiring me to pay. Then months after my first use of the app, it introduced coins and gems—to which I didn’t have a problem with it at first. Collecting coins was pretty easy since you could use gems or coins to unlock a new chapter, even watching a short ad. But then things began to go downhill. The frequent use of gems overruled coins, making readers be required to pay to read the stories they liked. I do understand authors wanting to be paid for the work they put into creating these stories, but it’s difficult for customers who want to find affordable reading applications. To add on, the prices are very over the top. I cannot fathom how a person could spend so much money just to read a single chapter. I do wish that the app can bring back the option of using coins alongside gems, or watching ads. But alas, my words wouldn’t be taken into account due to how people worship money. It’ll be brushed over just as all the rest of the low-starred reviews have been. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Downhill
It’s such a shame how things turned out for this app. I use to always look into certain comics and always anxiously waited for the next update from certain comics. I was here since coins and ads could unlock chapters. I find myself really disappointed for how the app works now. Like others have been saying the coin —-> gem exchange rate is ridiculous but also some of the comics. I just logged in back to my account recently and I skimmed over the genre I always read through and checked out my subscribed comics. Most of them have been collecting dust as they have not been updated since the few months I have not touched the app with no explanation why! Not to mention that the comics I previously unlocked went right back to having a paywall over them. I just find it frustrating that we can’t have an option to donate or earn gems in a less tedious manner. I wish everyone on the webcomics team the best but I can’t use this app anymore. Take my review how you will.

Not worth it
It used to be great and I loved reading on it but now you need to sink way to much money into it to just read past the first 10 chapters. It’s not worth it don’t get it

I havent been able to read my comics in months because they added gems to it
Ive had this app for over a year. Probably about 2 idk I've been here for along time. I normally don't write reviews but I am giving up, I've been hooked on one story since i started this comic app and now I can not finish it. It used to be free then it got changed to gems. I understand artists need to get paid but having years invested in a comic to not being able to finish it because you cant afford gems stinks. I used to be able to read it for spinning the daily wheel and getting free day or 3 days of reading but I've not been able to even get a day to read in months and I spin it daily. Idk if they have changed the free day rates lower but I've not seen one in forever.
I have decided to uninstall it because i just am not going to waste room on my phone for something i haven't been able to use in months because reading new stories for their free chapters isnt worth it because they all end the same gems.

Great content, but crashes a lot
Whenever I use the app it drains my phone’s battery super fast and makes the phone overheat. Also the app always crashes after reading 1-2 episodes of a series. My phone is an iPhone 12 and I’ve never encountered problems like this with other apps that I use for reading comics or mangas. I love the comics that I can read and I’ve paid for a lot of them already, it just frustrates me when I’m trying to read a series where I’ve bought over 50 chapters and I have to keep reopening the app to continue reading.

Maybe it’s time to find something new :(
I’ve been using WebComics for about 2-3 years. When I first got the app, it was absolutely amazing. Back then I would have rated it 5 stars. I understand that the authors who make the comics started to charge gems for their comics and that was totally fine. Comics would usually cost a couple coins or a couple of gems. They were pretty easy to get with the daily spin. The best part was that the daily spin seemed to have equal odds of landing on 10 coins or a 3 day free read. However, now you unlock chapters with red or green tickets and that cost quite a bit coins or gems. The daily spin seems off now also. It feels like they odds aren’t equal anymore. Honestly the premium membership doesn’t seem like it’s worth it either. I guess I just miss the old days where I could read for hours on end and enjoy the comics. And the comics now, they all feel the same, it’s hard to find a good and unique comic that doesn’t follow the same story line with semi different ml and fl. It was good while it lasted but I guess it’s time to move on (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞

New updates are terrible
I am a premium member(have been for about 2 years) as the coins use to be useful. Now, I have thousands of coins but have no good use for them as comics that did take coins switched to gems and even the 60 gems a month gets you at most 30 chapters (some comics are 4 gems a chapter!). The two comics each week are either ones that have been read already or newer comics that only have 40 or so chapters that you can read in less that an hour. I enjoyed that there were “free to read” comics on the homepage and that really filled in the void. Now you guys have “free to read” but it’s only a few chapters of the comics. So then, if you do want to read it you still have to spend tons and tons of coins. I get if there were some that were not fully free and had the few free chapters, but “free to read” should mean what it says and there is none that are actually free to read anymore unless you have premium like me and get the two free comics a week. You guys a huge step back.

Gems
l downloaded WebComics back in 2018 when you has to use coins to unlock each chapter, it was really nice since you could easily get them. I would spend most of my time reading mangas on the app, so l decided to delete it later. I downloaded it again yesterday and found out that you had to use gems or tickets to unlock chapters! It would’ve been fine if you could get them for free but you HAVE to pay to get them. I understand completely that authors need a way to earn money for their work but, l can’t enjoy the amazing mangas anymore, so l had to look for alternative apps. It’s such a shame since l really loved this app. The quality of the mangas on here are genuinely unmatched. I hope you can find a way for readers to earn free tickets and gems in some possible ways or just bring the coins back.

Bad service
I had an issue previously where I was charged but did not receive the subscription content access. At the time I reached through the app for support and they fobed me off to apple to request the refund. I let it go at the time because it was just to much hassle to have to go through. I manually cancelled the payments through my bank and App Store. So that was fun. I really love manga and all the content the creators are bring out so I just signed back up tonight to find out that the subscription they have running is worth less than 9 chapters of reading. Literally all the content I want to read requires diamonds (subscription or not) you receive what they call a wallet of diamonds but it is no more than 9 chapters on 4 diamonds a piece. I want to support creators and more content but I’d rather not use this service again it’s useless and rather insulting. Don’t subscribe to this app. It’s not worth the hassle.

Thank you for your feedback. The Premium is a brand-new feature in our newest update(differentiate from the old membership "Plus"). With Premium, you can read "early access" chapters, will still need coins/gems to unlock but also get plenty of coins and gems, and still be able to unlock chapters permanently instead of temporarily compare to the Plus. You are also able to claim free comics every week! There are also more privileges will be added in the coming version. Hope you can still enjoy our new feature and keep supporting us!
