  • I'm "In Love" With This New Romance!

Domini Games strikes again, with this riveting, fun-filled adaption of the popular children's fairytale "Snow White," first published by Brothers Grimm in 1812, and later revised for the final version of the story in 1854.

This series stands out for its unique twist of offering players varying perspectives while assuming the roles of two Protagonists, who, in this game, team up to rid the kingdom of the evil Queen — who doesn't seem to believe in age over beauty. The frequent switching back and forth between roles provides glimpses into their individual minds, as well as insight as to their behavioral patterns and interactions with each other.

You meet an interesting cast of characters who have distinct personalities; I am amused by the alchemist, Prosper, who transformed into a tree during an experiment gone wrong. One character who got on my nerves was Miss Squeaky Pants, the little fairy with the annoying, high-pitched voice. I was hoping she would get kidnapped and banished by the Queen to Peter Pan's Neverland — to "never" return.

The settings are imaginative and intricately detailed. I am enchanted by the immersive animations that breathe life into ordinary objects; for example, a bear rug lets out a growl, and its eyes turn red.

I love that the map, as in most of Domini's games, allows a player to enable the collectibles icon to indicate the scenes in which they can be found.

The gameplay, although linear, is highly interactive and multi-layered, with puzzles giving way to HOSs. Even the inventory usage is puzzle-like at times. The artistic designs of the HOSs are creatively rendered. The HOSs vary in format, so most players should be pleased. This developer allows us to configure a difficulty preference for the puzzles via custom settings and for individual puzzles. There are a multitude of diverse and sometimes challenging puzzles to maintain my attention. I love the one in which you form different patterns by selecting shapes within a square. I always look forward to this developer's collectibles. There are multiple sets to discover, and they deliver an entertaining and informative aspect. Both the transition and mechanics are seamless and glitch free.

This developer has fast become my favorite one. While other developers are shirking away from establishing creative ideas, this developer embraces the task and continues to spur forth engaging, clever productions. There's nothing not to like about this game. A little ground was just made up for denying us a worthwhile game the last few weeks; however, this upward trend must steadily continue to appease us faithful customers. I rate this game five (5) stars.
