Fantastic, it does what it says it will do.

Been using this app for a few years now and could not wish for anything else. Has done what has been asked of it.

Need speed and animation

Would be great to see the the app include average and top paddling speeds. I see the speed colour but no number indicator as what they are. To include the heart rate you need to use the watch app, iPhone app isn’t syncing to the watch.

SPM seems to max out at 80

I use an Apple Watch Ultra 2 with the Paddlr app. I got it for double blading (surf ski). The paddle cadence seems to max out at about 80 spm. By manually counting, I know my spm is periodically greater than 80 spm.

Turn off pulsing?

I’ve been using this app for a few years now while SUP. All of a sudden my watch is pulsating while using. How do I turn that off? It’s annoying.

Response from developer

Thanks for sharing your issue with watch pulsating. I have not heard of this issue nor encountered it with any of my users. By pulsating do you mean haptic vibrations? Any audible sounds? Please send an email to paddlrinfo@gmail.com detailing your exact issue. Include Paddlr app version (available at bottom of settings screen on phone), your Apple Watch model and watchOS version, and the exact settings on watch - paddle style, stroke count min cadence alerts, etc. Once I have this information we can start troubleshooting the issue. Thanks, -Brian.

SPM doesn’t work

Sadly, the only app I found with SPM on the watch… great concept but I was unsuccessful at getting my SPM on the watch.

Also, would have appreciated my pace being in minutes:seconds by km instead of minutes, hundredth of minutes by km.

Would love to see some improvements since it is a paid app.

Response from developer

Hello, Sorry to hear you are having problems recording strokes/SPM on watch. The cause could be a setting preventing strokes to record. If you could please send email to paddlrinfo@gmail.com describing the issue, we’ll open a support ticket and get it resolved. Min:sec pace display will be available in the next version soon to be released. Thanks for supporting Paddlr!

‘Heart Rate only supported with Apple watch’

I have an apple watch (Ultra), and heart rate works in the health app, but records nothing in this app and I see the message ‘Heart Rate only supported with Apple watch’.
I wish stroke rate worked for SUP. I’ve tried using Crew, but that does not provide an accurate stroke rate for paddling.
This app did not live up to the description that I based my purchase on.

Response from developer

Hello Bill, Sorry to hear about heart rate not logging with Paddlr on your Apple Ultra Watch. I've tried to reproduce this problem but can only conclude health permissions are not set correctly. Try going to Settings->Health->Data Access & Devices->Paddlr on your paired phone and make sure all permissions are turned on including Heart Rate. If this does not solve your problem, please contact us at paddlrinfo@gmail.com and we'll open a support ticket. SUP was added as an activity type only for labeling purposes so it shows up as SUP activity in app History, file export, and uploads to Strava. I should be more clear in app description that SUP is currently not supported for stroke count. Apologize for any confusion. Stroke count for SUP is the most frequently asked feature request and we're actively working on supporting it in a future release.

Unable to link my paddles tracked from my Apple Watch

Don’t like bringing my phone since you know. Water. But am unable to link my paddles tracked via my Apple Watch. Lack of options other than pressing the sync button a lot

Response from developer

Hello Peter, Sorry you are having issues using Paddlr. I encourage you to try the latest version (2022.3) with improved paddle session transfer from watch to phone. All reported issues have been resolved including longer sessions not making it to phone. Transferred sessions automatically show up on History screen when transfers complete - no need for Sync button as that is for iCloud only. Transfers are scheduled for delivery and arrive at phone when conditions are optimal. The Sync button will be removed in future versions allowing iCloud stored sessions (when turned on in Paddlr Settings) to sync automatically. -Brian.

Great app needing some fixes

Great concept, really like the layout and how easy it is to use. Would have rated it higher if I didn’t hit an issue with using it: the mechanism for transferring paddles from Apple Watch app to iPhone app doesn’t seem to reliably connect and transfer data - out of three paddles I have used Paddlr on only one has synced, so I have data on one out of three paddles. For the two paddles which didn’t transfer across I have no data. Hoping this isn’t too difficult to fix?

Response from developer

Thanks for the review and for giving Paddlr a try. I truly appreciate the feedback. Several users have complained about paddle sessions not transferring to phone. I'm currently working on improvements to this process and hope to have a new version out soon that fixes this problem. In the meantime, one solution that worked for other users is to restart/reboot both phone and watch, open Paddlr on both devices, navigate to History on iPhone and see if paddles transfer. Swipe down to refresh History. Hopefully this works for you. -Brian.
